I have a few things that are pretty old. The oldest is probably a shirt I wear nowadays for working round the yard, I just wore it last weekend in fact!

It was second hand when I got it, from a friend's Dad. He'd put on a lot of weight, and remembered I'd admired it one day, so he gave it to me. It felt kind of weird at the time, getting a shirt from an old guy, but it's been so useful over the years, especially for outdoor work.

Guys' shirts are made much better than women's for that sort of thing, imo.

I would say it's at least 10 years since I got it.

I've got a couple of jumpers that are at least 10 years old, too, that I still wear from time to time, although one of them will have to go next winter because it's just getting too threadbare ~ and actually, I'll miss it! :-(

Cheers :-)

I still wear a very heavy hand-knit wool ski sweater from Banana Republic, bought in 1993! It looks great, is very warm, and people STILL compliment me on it. This, of course, is from an era where Banana Republic still made quality clothing that lasted and lasted. Back then, you didn't mind paying $200. for a sweater that you loved, because you knew it was a classic for your wardrobe. Now you can buy something from BR at the same sky-high prices, and it is flimsy, and looks like SH*T after three months!

I still have a motorbike leather jacket fom 1971, so 36 years old. I am 52, but the jigger is coming out of the loft again soon, for a bike rally for oldies.

this one made me think.....I keep rather alot of old things that I happen to like. But I guess the oldest would be a pair of boots that I only wear when it snows, they are 17 years old, and it doesn't snow here all that much, but the boots are very comfy and warm.

A sweatshirt that says,"Give me chocolate and nobody get's hurt!" It has a little brown critter next to the wording. Probably 10 years old too! :)

My mother hand-sewed me a fully lined suit (tea length skirt and bolero jacket) back in 1990. She made it for me to wear when I sang at our church's conference (in front of about 6,000) people. The material is still beautiful and it still fits, but no longer in style. I just can't bring myself to throw it away! I'm thinking of wearing it to my parent's 50th wedding anniversary in January.
