Yeah, you got THAT right! Leave New Orleans the hell alone! When natural disaster strikes, let God's will STAND! Does nobody get it? Nature is resilient, and so are the infrastructures that need be constructed only once and never maintained or repaired. So New Orleans rots into a cesspool - so what! This is the United States! We have, what, 155 more MSAs left. We don't need to worry about what Katrina did.
And don't even get me STARTED on sniveling kids, resurgent diseases, or insidious cancers that have no causation in individual behaviors. Hell, don't even talk to me about individual FREEDOM, because freedom makes people sick, and if they're sick then they think I, or even Penelope, is supposed to pay for them.
Damn good thing we're paying through the nose to fight them there! It worked SO WELL for the Spaniards and the British, who kept the terrorists away from their trains and subways SO effectively! Terrorists are stupid f**ks who don't know anything about travel or GPS, so they'll never get here if we shoot at them over there, that's for sure.
You preach it, Sister P!

In all seriousness, what events in your life have created such selfishness, evidenced in your questions time and again?

We have to spend the money on the Gulf Coast, to bring that huge affected area back into the economy, not to mention helping our neighbors in their time of need.
I'm not aware that we're actually spending any money on health-care,...seems like the usual Washington debate and name-calling.
Regarding the war-on-terror: We wouldn't be wasting millions a day, and lives by the dozen, if we had stayed focused on the war-on-terror. Instead of killing Bin Laden, and winning "hearts and Minds" in the Islamic world, we jumped into Bush Family revenge, and that's where all the Billions and Young Lives are being wasted.
With those wasted moneys, we could have rebuilt the Gulf Coast into a paradise on Earth, and given every poor, or needy American a million dollars worth of benefits!
BTW, What "free goodies" are you gettin' from Uncle ? Cuz I want some too ! LoL

Well, the money for Katrina and Health care has a more direct impact on helping people in our country, rather then an indirect route that the War on Terrorism theoretically does. As for the "fight them over there, so we don't fight them here", that is a different topic.

And I don't need Iraq to have democracy, which Bush says with their culture they do not want democracy (said that about Palestine, but since Iraq and Palestine have the same culture, he must be talking about both) So stop paying for the war, and if you don't feel safe stop listening to Bush speeches where he terrorizes you with WW III and a new terror plot every time a vote for domestic spying come up

Because the liberals like to blame everything on Bush and augment the problems in america so that it seems like they are all his fault. Take a look at Katrina. They are STILL a mess after the hurricane. Mississippi got hit just as bad and they rebuilt the minute after the hurricane was over. So what's New Orleans problem? Well, its certainly not Bush's fault, that's for sure. The moment he gets out of office, New Orleans will start rebuilding and use it as an anti-bush campaign. Just wait...

Good point, people complain that that Pres Bush vetoed the child healthcare bill which is another issue but it offers healthcare for families in the 84k a year and thats where the money goes. We spend millions on immigrants and provide more welfare than ever, but yet people will not have an oppotunity to enjoy those freebies and suck up the system for all it has if they are killed in a terrorist attack. A lot of people are greedy and are more concerned with protecting the rights of terrorists than the right of American citizens to live.

Are you serious?
How sadly selfish of you to say something like that.
I’m not even an American, and yet I feel as though you’ve stabbed me in the heart with such a comment!
I’m POSTIVE your perspective would be profoundly different if you were suffering from some horrible disease or if your whole life was washed away from Katrina!
I think that you should be ashamed to think that way, although I truly have no right to judge you for your words…

Yeah just ask those Katrina victims about the money that was spent keeping them safe. Nice job with those levies.
I am having trouble believing by this question that you actually go to college.

How else are the politicians suppose to buy peoples' votes? Without all the hand-outs, politicians might have to have values and ideas to get elected. We can't have that.
