I am trying to come up with a budget for my 4 days trip to Negril. If I will eat out each day (not in the hotel) how much will it cost me? Is it any cheaper than in US? Thanks! Are there any stores to buy some food or only restaurants?

Yes it will be cheaper. If ou can live off of the tastees and juici beef patties and get food on the roadside(people who cook on the street)..it will run about $2-$7US or per meal..BIG meals too! You can probably share the food.
Restuarants..probably $15-20US each.
I would tell you to do the roadside food while touring because they cook better and its cheaper!
SO all together..bring about $50-60 US dollars a day..JUST incase!! This number is a bit far-fetched..but better safe than sorry! This could probably last you for then entire 4 days..but you never know how much you'll want to eat right?
Me personally, I just ate patties all day and night! If I wanted some real food, I went to the roadside and had them cook me a fresh batch of fish, chicken, or ackee. They attack you to buy there foods. You con't even have to come out the car! But they are very nice and basically you pick which ones food taste better since theyre are multiple chefs in one area that cook the same things sometimes!..
You are going to have a good belly filling meal!
****EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT**
No car is perfectly fine, roadside food sellers is everywhere..and so are restuarants. Jamaicans love there food..at convienience to them..so you can get food any time anywhere in Jamaica. Plenty of shops that sell food! Plenty of patty places near you! Don't worry..

Like already stated budget about $50 pp per day.. I usually get breakfast for about $5-8 lunch about $10 and dinner anywhere from $10-24, depending on what I'm in the mood for.. If I want lobster I get lobster, but it's typically the most expensive thing on the menu. If I knew where you were staying I could give some suggestions. I know you're in Negril but there are many hotels in Negril. Patties and coco bread can be a good lunch for very cheap. The patty guys walk the beach in the afternoon or head to Niah's @ wavez, but Mariposa area. Check out

On "the new Negril map page" is a great up to date map that shows where everything is pretty much..
Beer on the beach can be found for $100J, or about $1.50, depending on the exchange rate at the time. Take a taxi to the roundabout (circle) and go to either Hi-Lo or Value Master. You can grab groceries and drinks (beer and such) there, thats also where you will find ATM's, and the Burger King (LOL). If your room has a fridge thats always a bonus too. If not bring a collapsible cooler..
Good Luck!

As the other responders have said, it depends on what your idea of a "meal" consists of and what your are doing/where your going to be in the area. Dining options range from little stands and marts to gourmet, oceanfront restaurants and prices vary greatly accordingly. One place I thought was a good, reasonably priced, place to go for breakfast/lunch when I was in Negril (its been a few years now) was Choices. Otherwise, I suggest you check out the website below. You can check out prices of many of the local (generally the "ritzy") restaurants; you can also get on the message board to ask questions of the locals and other people who have stayed in Negril before which should give you more help. You may also want to check out tripadvisor.com

KFC in Jamaica is so much better than the US for about $5US you get a 3 pc chicken with fries and soda. Mariposa is a must for a nice dinner for $10 and up. It is right on the beach and the food is good Italian food. Just ask were the locals eat. I am Jamaican from Kingston and I carve Mariposa's food even if I stay at an all inclusive I have to eat at least one night at Mariposa. Have fun

It's a lot cheaper than the U.S. You can eat where the locals eat which has good food but just check out the sanitary conditions before you order. That will only cost you 2 -3 US/meal. Obviously if you go to a tourist location, you pay touristy prices. There are stores where you can purchase snacks. Of course if you drink lots of Red Stripes, the bill will be higher.

Having stayed in Negril in 2007 i got here across that for the period of spite of the reality that the sea coast is public and loose some all-inclusive inns want to evaluate the sea coast area in front of their hotel their area. i became into asked a number of cases through protection if i became into staying on the hotel i became into in front of on the sea coast and if no longer which hotel became into I staying at. Having stayed in Montego Bay in 2006 I did take an afternoon out to Negril (it extremely is the reason I back in 2007) and desperate to spend it sluggish on 7 mile sea coast. There are 2 factors in which you would be able to enter. the 1st area is long Bay it extremely is a sea coast mostly utilized through the locals. in spite of the reality that that could be a factor of the 7 mile sea coast area there are no inns in a small radius and the locals tend to apply that sea coast. there is not any fee to circulate into. i in my opinion enjoyed the area at Cosmo's eating place and sea coast. stepping into there there became right into a value of $6.00 according to guy or woman.
