PCSO's are supposed to be the visible police on our streets.
The fact that they have no training for anything, are unable to arrest anyone and turn a blind eye to any crime doesnt matter (according to police propaganda)
They are there to make us feel safe and to give us the impression that they actually are there to uphold the law.
They wouldnt put them in an office cos we wouldnt be able to see them then.
Good idea!!!!
Our local ones appear only in daylight and spend all their time window shopping or drinking tea in a local cafe. Very high profile crime fighting!

To maximum ideal Bushraider, PCSO's do no longer have any skill of arrest. no more suitable than any trouble-free citizen. particular's, although, have the very similar powers as a each day officer. As for what i imagine of PCSOs. those i comprehend do an extremely confusing interest because of their barriers. What i do no longer understand is why the authorities is making an investment money in PCSOs at the same time as a trainee constable earns a lot less? i assume it does provide the effect of having more suitable ft on the line and fewer than the coverage of neighbourhood policing it really is tremendous. although, I do question the philosophy in the back of policing that seems to placed more suitable artwork into construction kin with the wide-spread public than coming down confusing on the actual criminals. Is the implementation of PCSOs more suitable of a PR action i ask your self? i assume time will tell yet i'm getting the feeling that in some strategies we've been the following before ony to revert back to the tried and relied on strategies we've everyday for a lengthy time period. common officials out doing what they comprehend perfect.

There may well be a legal requirement for a fully trained police officer to fill out the forms and paper work. Even the slightest thing wrong with paper work and it gets chucked out of court by the smart lawyers.

A traffic warden for example may issue a parking ticket but is not capable beyond that of dealing with any action concerning the courts.

Same then with a community support officer.

I'm not sure that the Fuzz actually like community support officers anyway.

Many good suggestions. PCSO's are cheaper, not by much, and their powers are increasing. It's simply a back door way of cutting the cost of the police force. Which is an unbelievably expensive organization.

because the person that has been there has to write it all up.

think of this. you work in a children's nursery and u are sent on ur dinner. the children are outside with me and there is an incident with 2 children. u come back off ur dinner and are asked to wroite an accident form. as u wern't there u won't know what exactly happened and would end up asking me anyway.

its always best to come from the person first hand (chinese whispers lol) that was there and took statements etc. i know what its like having just been out with one and its annoying when 15 mins before ur shift ends u arrest someone and have to stay for the paper work, but thats the way its gotts be done i'm afraid.

maybe we should look at cutting down the paper work, making things easier

Because they would look at the paperwork, suck in air through their lips and say "Well sorry, I haven't been trained properly to do this."

Yes I know - a dig at those two dumb wits who didn't even TRY to save that drowning lad. May have happened a while ago, but the kid still died and it highlighted what jobworths these people are.

What a brilliant idea......never thought of that one.......It makes sense.

Because that's what does hold our police officers back, the paperwork. .....for years my friend a copper, has been telling me they have too much paperwork...and many have lost the love of the job....too much paperwork, no more out doing the job. One hour on the job, 3 hours paperwork.

That's why they don't make arrests..too much paperwork.

What a country we live in. Oh before you go...... Sign here please...

Because PCSO's wouldn't want to volunteer if all they did was paper work. They wouldn't get to play copper and that's just not fun!!!
