Jeans for older women?

My mom is in her mid 50's and really needs some new jeans. She can't seem to find any that are not super low at the waist. She is not looking for $200 designer jeans. She just needs regular jeans that are a little more flattering than the ones she bought in the 90's. Any thoughts on what stores to look at?

my mom love's jeans by chico's. or go to a good department store like nordstroms. It is going to take effort and she will need to try on a lot of them. I notice that Nordstrom's always has tons of different options.
