MVP voting is done before the playoffs even begin in baseball. Since the playoffs are not supposed to be taken into account for the award they do it that way to make sure that they CAN'T be taken into account. So, in reality, even though it has not yet been announced, someone has ALREADY actually won the MVP. And yet another early Yankees playoff exit will not effect Rodriguez's MVP award.

Yes, like other posters here said the award is voted on prior to the post season beginning.
Plus, look at it this way, A-Rod won it in 2003 when he was still with the Rangers and they didn't even make the post season.

They vote on that at the end of the season but before the playoffs start...so yeah I would have to guess he still gets it...its MVP of the season...they have playoff awards.

ARod will get it. He closest competition is Magglio and his team didn't make the playoffs. Usually your team has to make the playoffs to qualify.
The one time I remember that not happening is when Andre Dawson won mvp with the last place Cubs. But that's rare.

Yes he does. MVP stats are for regular season only, not what happens in play-offs.

Yes. Voting is submitted before the postseason begins, to ensure that the BBWAA awards -- which are intended to honor performances in the regular season -- are not influence by postseason play.
