I have spent this entire week waiting for the furnace man to fix our furnace. Monday, just a complete no show. Tuesday, came but had to order a part. Wednesday, promised to come at 11:AM and no show, no call. Thursday, another complete no show, no call, can't get a hold of him. Today, the same. Yes, they are a proper company. Professional website, etc. I'm so angry. Is this usual?

He finally showed up late today. Made about twenty trips back and forth to his truck and lots of phone calls. This did not inspire confidence! Then he told me the furnace can't be saved after all and they are going to install a new one tomorrow morning. Sure they are. Wanna bet he doesn't show up? I know, I know, I should call a different company.

My husband is a telephone repairman so I understand both sides of this situation. Of course you could understand the day he needed to order a part, but I would be livid with the no show no call thing. That is just not right. When my husbands work day changes he either leaves a note at the customers home or his dispatch people call the customer. Very unprofessional company in my opinion to just leave you high & dry. Good Luck.

I was "in the business" so I know what goes on. In the first place I can see some of this, parts and all. But, he should sit down with you and, explain what's going on, I always did, even if some people could care less, I let them know.
Then I would call them and, tell them why I wouldn't show for the day or, why I was going to be late.
I was chosen the "service man of the year" by my people, it's not that hard for them to pick up the phone and, let the customer know what's going on.

I would call the company and ask them what the heck is going on and the why's of it.

Unfortunately it is somewhat. If you have an appt set and they cant even give you a call to let you know what is going on, they will not be reliable in the future. I would not suggest using their services at all. Even if they do show up, send them away.
If I were you, I would have called a couple other companies, if not at the start, a week ago when you were stood up.
Would you do this with a guy you were dating? First date and your stood up for a week? Same idea, your not going to have a good future with him.
Call a few places and set up appt. with them at different times. Write down who and when so you can call and cancel the appt if you get someone you like before them.

This is so typical! You should definately let the company know how ticked off you are. There is no excuse for such poor business practices. I am done waiting! If no one shows I find someone who will. It is time consuming and frustrating but I think they will get the message. If you want the business you should respect the customer!
Good Luck to you!

Id be telling him do not come back and find a reputable company to look at your furnace, That is just bad policy, If i was to do that to my customers i wouldnt even have a job. I surely wouldnt trust their work at all..
