the word is embolism, or aneurysm, not sure which you mean. An embolism is a clot, it is near your heart they should be doing surgery to get rid of it. An aneurysm is a weaking in the blood vessel, depending on the severity, it may or may not require surgery. Frankly, I'd be making a great deal of noise over either issue, I wouldn't sit still for them just "watching" it.

I think you mean embolism. An embolism is an obstruction or occlusion of a blood vessel by an embolus (a loose blood clot or air bubble or other particle). It travels in the bloodstream, lodges in a blood vessel, and obstructs or occludes it. If the doctors said that they were going to monitor you, then it is not like you are a living time bomb. They may give you blood thinners to prevent further clotting. There is risk of stroke and other heart problems associated with embolisms. You can check you webmd.com and search "embolism" for more info. Also, ask your doctor or nurse any questions you may have and have them explain it to you..it's part of their job!

are you saying aneurysm, this is a bulge in a blood vessel. And they can get larger , so that is why they need to keep an eye on it, from time to time.
