Lincoln has always been my favorite.
Honest abe - he was taught at home - too poor to go to school. So honest he walked several miles in the snow just to repay a penny to someone. He worked his way from one of the poorest of the poor to being the President of the United States. It was his work that led to the abolishment of slavery and saved this country from splitting into two. Quite the hero!

Theodore Roosevelt as he was a very strong leader that put America first always and like you said, devoted to his country. I also had a lot of respect and admiration for Ronald Reagan especially for winning the Cold War and the bringing down of the wall.

John Tyler.
He gave the longest inauguration in history, in 10 degree weather without a coat. He caught pnuemonia, and died 45 days later. Let that be a lesson to all the other blowhard politicians.

Kennedy. i think the states were at their prime time then and optimism was overflowing and he reflected all these things. i mean why bother killing someone who hasn't got 'it'? i think his loss left an indelible scar on the american collective. i guess he wasn't perfect but his murder made him an immortal picture of idealism and charisma shooted down by the powers of darkness

FDR - Best ever. The US would have no social programs and your inner cities would be even more of a mess without him.
