I'm In CA I had auto repairs done and the company is out of business. How can I recoup or file a complaint against the owner in case he opens a business in another name? He gave a year warranty. Is there anything I can do I paid a lot of money to have eletrical work done

If the company was incorporated, you can file suit against the corporation. If they have filed bankruptcy, and it has not been discharged, you can put a claim in with the court, but you could expect to get pennies on the dollar (if that).

A corporation is a legal entity. The owners of the corporation would have no personal liability for the business. They could form a new corporation tomorrow and open another business and they would not be required to honor warranties from any othe business.

Another fly by night operation in Cali - well who'd of thought.

Unless this was a part of a corporate chain - your out.

There is no law that says that the owner is resposible for the business failing.
He is not entitled to repair after he is closed down.

One year warranty on "electrical"?

I doubt that. read the fine print. 90 days is usualy the max.
