I wrote mine when I went into treatment so that I will always remember where I have come from and who I want to be today. I have let a few recovering addicts read it. I hope it helped.

What about you? Would anybody want to read yours? Could your story help somebody else?

Do you ever speak at meetings? I have done a lot of that in the past. I was much in demand because I'm an exhibitionist and most people demure at public speaking. Also I was extremely funny which goes with being in terrible pain.
I would like to think I helped. My story is a little ho-hum but does show how easily women can be almost lost in a few short years. Something about us girls, really.
BTW I am sending you an email in a minute.

Only if they want to cry while they are being bored to tears at the same time!! It may be able to help some people if they could stay awake long enough to get to the parts that would help!! I think I'd better stick to giving answers to the people that just ask the questions!!

I would love to read your story. Remember, this is just my impressions and opinion. It's up to you to decide if it's useful. >>My bruised, bleeding mother’s being dragged from my grasp screaming for me to run but I can’t. This is written in what's considered "passive voice". It's a little hard to detect sometimes and is often advised against wherever possible. "The door is being closed" "The girl is going to get her hair done." "He is getting punched." are all examples of passive voice. The easiest way to detect a passive voice is if there's two verbs, and one of those verbs is either "going" "being" or "getting". That's not the only rule, but it's normally the easiest for beginners to catch. >>I then look up to see Nar, a teenager in my village.] This next bit of advise depends on how much "in the time" you want to put your book. "Teenager" is actually a fairly modern term. >> She’s still out there being towed to an unknown structure where she could be tortured and starved. A little awkward sentence. Structure implies a building or something. And towing in that context is also a modern term. Maybe consider "Shes still out there, being dragged to somewhere unknown..." or whatever. >> The arrow pierced her forehead right between her eyes. Hollywood stuff. Bows are funny things. Depending on the kind depends on if this works. British long bows and French cross bows could pierce bone. Other bows could not. Overall, I like your story. I would suggest becoming familiar with what time period you want to depict. Have fun. And I ran out of time to critique.

I used to keep journals when I was an addict, I had about 6 of them, and then one day they all just... disappeared. I wish they hadnt, because I would like to read them now.

Of course I would read what you wrote. I love me some Polly.

I am a writer. I have written many short stories and I use personal experience for my material. Many people have read or had my stories read to them. I think life experiences serve a purpose for yourself and for others.

If only i ever manage to take a decensitization pill to decensitize my brain, to sit on the chair for like 9000 hours and write my story.

It will make a NewYork TImes best seller. (or else....)

no, because it would just break the only person that would want to read it's heart. i think it would be a good story about "What NOT to Do with Your Life"

I haven't written one. But mine would be more like a soap opera. A few things I've gone through might help someone else. I'm just not that great at putting things down on paper.

Is that my missing friend Jake up there?

Yes.. I think it would make for an interesting story. VERY interesting..haha... that is if you like to read about church buses crashing into your house, people getting stabbed right outside your front yard and dads trying to shoot their ex wives boyfriend, then he proceeds to jump out of a small window... with a blanket over him. ...

...Perfection.
