What's with GHW Bush and Harken and Cheney and Halliburton and why did they get so many contracts in Iraq?

What's that about?

The Bushs are old oil families, they like making money, war contracts make them money, they *really* like money & will do what ever it takes to keep their pockets full, the heck with the rest of the country!

They don't have a "huge interest", whatever that's supposed to so sinisterly imply. There is no factual basis, no evidence, no proof to support such a claim. But I know that anti-Bushies only need their feelings, proof be damned.

Bush was in the oil business and was, long ago, a partner in Harken Oil.

Cheney was CEO of Halliburton prior to becoming Bush's VP.

Halliburton has long gotten contracts and no-bid contracts to support the US military's needs, prior to Bush's first election. They provide a logistical support capability that is difficult to match. That's why Clinton used them, that's why Bush uses them.

As for Harken, any supporting evidence that Bush has been involved in them since he left them? Didn't think so.

Look, if you anti-Bushies want to attack the policies and positions of Bush and Cheney, based on factual or logical arguments, that is the soul of intelligent, rational and reasoned debate.

But this type of crap only drags the debate into the intellectual gutter.

He, alongside with many others in government, very own some inventory in oil companies. I do too in my 401K. Exxon. A tiny quantity yet some. And in case you very own any mutual or index fund, you probably very own some too. In a feeling, you ought to declare he owns area of the oil organisation, like something human beings, for the reason that's what procuring the inventory is all approximately. making an investment in a organisation you think of will do properly and not lose your funds. Now there are some who decide so which you would be able to be stored blind to this certainty by using screaming that Bush will do something to help those wealthy companies income. enable's in simple terms say it would not help any human beings to have Exxon go through financially. in the event that they do then perhaps British owned BP or Dutch owned Shell will soak up the slack hurting all human beings right here interior the U.S. even worse. i'm no longer for profiteering yet I additionally do no longer have confidence we ought to consistently take down each and all of the "evil" companies.

Halliburton is NOT an oil company. But anyway I think it's obvious why they got the no bid contracts. Because Cheney is VP. Cheney pushed this war since before 9-11 happened with the PNAC agenda - US military dominance over the world, they even stated they needed another Pearl Harbor to drum up support for war. Halliburton is a contruction and logistics company and they are now building 14 permanant military bases in Iraq.

Um, Halliburton is not an oil company.

If you spent some time trying to find out what they ARE and what they do and then looked into who their competition is, you will be able to answer your own question.

I'll give you a hint. Halliburton is an oil TOOLS company that supports the oil industry with tools, equipment and logistical support. Not surprisingly, they have massive logistical resources in the middle east to support this industry. There is no other American company that has their 'in country' resources and as such, there was no other company to 'compete' with. After the primary military effort, there was a critical need for trucks and other logistical equipment that only they had. Lastly, the federal procurement process takes months, sometimes almost a year. We had a critical need, they ALONE had the resources.

Watch Cheney's Law on NOVA next time it is on. They give a brief history of Cheneys ties beginning with Brown and Root which is tied to Halliburton today. Bush was never the President, Cheney has been all along.

These guys are not true Republicans. They backstabbed a lot of people to get Cheney's agenda going. He believes the government should be run a certain way and he accomplished his goal.

Hillary scares me too. She wants government to be run her way and will stop at nothing to change the face of our republic from the inside out.

Both parties have got to go.

Makin the big bucks. They care more about money than they do people. They beleive that as long as the rich get richer, the poor will be satisfied with what "trickles" down to them. That's Reaganomics for ya. Have you ever heard Dubya praising Reagan and his economic genious? Thats why he didn't see Katrina as that big of a deal because, [Bush & co.] "Hey, they're just poor people. Give them a trailor and thats probably better than what they had before."

Guess we are going to have to give up a couple weeks worth of pay and march into Washington...... yea right, like we can afford that! See ya there!
