So many of you have decided that the government is failing to provide for the millions of suffering Americans, my question is, are you helping your fellow neighbor in their time of suffering? Or are you just sitting on Y/A 23 hours a day hoping someone else will do it for you?

my family and I are huge community supporters. Actually, I think we ought to do more locally before we send so much out.

Charity begins at home. (and that means your neighborhood and communites surrounding) not just your house.

I do my part. I have been to Louisana 6 times after Rita hit, working with Habitat for Humanity. I work in a soup kitchen on Sundays, serving lunch to the needy. I do quite a bit between donations and community service, but part of the feeling of satisfaction comes from being discreet about it. I doubt anyone who does community work is going to tell the world through a bull horn.

You seem to forget that some of us may be those neighbors you are talking about. I think a lot of people are feeling the pinch. We are also busy working and going to school.
It's not that we don't care but we are scrapped ourselves.
Globalization is one cause. China is booming. That should be us that is booming!!!! Why don't people understand that?
The only ones benefiting from globalization are corporate executives. They are making more profits but it's not translating to savings for consumers. It's such a lie. Supply and demand prevent companies from charging really high prices. Wages and salaries are not rising and it's not linked to productivity because American workers are still the most productive in the world. We are more efficient and more effective. We can do more with less than anyone else because we are smart and educated.

What can human beings do? nicely, they are able to vote for somebody else who's promising a vote (nevertheless they're basically as in all probability to alter their minds as Labour did), for a start up. If adequate human beings petitioned the government, went on marches etc. it may well be exceedingly confusing for the government to forget approximately them. a million million marched in opposition to the Iraq conflict, although, and that they have got been surpassed over, so it might could desire to be a reasonably great form of individuals to tension a reaction. it ought to be carried out although, if adequate human beings (some million a minimum of) petitioned/validated for a vote on ecu club. we are able to all, domestically, petition our community MPs to hold the difficulty up in Parliament. If adequate MPs did this, then those in value of the events might see it as a controversy well worth pursuing. i think of the events do no longer introduce a countrywide vote, through fact they're worried regarding the effect. Staying interior the ecu won't be incredible, yet in many techniques that's greater useful than leaving it completely. i think of they're worried that all human beings will vote to flow away the ecu, then blame them 5/ten years down the line while we are all worse off for it. they might desire to be confident that the effect may well be the two 'definite - stay interior the ecu' or 'flow away yet keep commerce institutions' for them to even evaluate introducing a vote on club.

I answered this question several days ago. Bottom line is I have and will continue to spend as much time helping improve this country as possible. However, I do like taking a little time for myself once and a while.

The government shouldnt provide for people.

The government providing for people is what makes this a country of whining babies.

Stand on your own two feet and provide for your self. Be an American, not a slave to socialism.

This is the question that plagues our generation. My parents generation took to the streets to protest. The Right-Wing ultra rich, who liked "business as usual," decided to end this with a decades long plan to lower hourly wages, and increase hours worked to the "dregs of society," (middle class America) doesn't have the time to think about, less than protest, the problems in this country. Now, we have internet to keep us busy, without actually protesting.
