The gas that you have is actually odorless, until there is a detection odor added to it. When you have a leak you may smell an odor like bad eggs or sulfur. Then it's time to call the utility company and they will come out with a detector, but if you want to check for a leak yourself mix up soap and water and brush or spray it around the area you suspect. If you notice any bubbling where you applied it, you definitely need to call the gas company.

if you have gas running to the house its natural gas, if it runs out of a tank its propane, is it a mustard smell ? thats natural gas, they put it in to make it noticable, [the gas co] check your pilot lights are they all burning? or do you have a stove that snaps when you turn it on? f you smell it a lot call the gas co, or could be a small amount that just didnt get burnt,
