Im sorry if that happen, i think overall that happen , when u are not real in love with your partner.
this is fact u always will see more atractive guy or women, then ur husband or wive , if ur male, like example.
i finally did my divorce today after three year separate.
let me tell like mind of guy , mos guys look for look then how you are , some like to play with the women, some are really respectfull, depend what kind of guy u get, you will know how the guys is really color , when u leave together i mean marriage .

this isnt only for guys.. sure u can read my answer or not.. gurls do the same thing and that is because also like guys they get bored that nothing is happening.. that is what makes them want to have an affair.. if they are sexually satisfied or also if there are a lot of arguments going on then there is no way that that person is happy which is why they go to someone else so that they can get the happiness that they want.. :D

Lady L, luckily I haven't done so and hope that it never does happen for either myself or my spouse. But I realize that it does often happen and the reasons vary from individual to individual. Lots of time it is merely an ego boost while at others it may be because of lack of communication between the partners. It is sad that in today's disposable society that so many people look at their relationship in the same way, as disposable.

Okay don't hate me for not being a guy...but...I have been out of love with my husband for years. I was beginning to think there was no hope.
Then, the other day I went to a party and this woman told me "Your husband did the cutest thing the other day. I saw him drive to the school and run up to your child and give him a kiss."
After all these years, the ice began to thaw with just that one moment. He had no idea I would find out that he did that and just knowing that he loves our child enough to go out of his way to drive to school to give him a kiss, made him the most wonderful man in my eyes.

because they think all their problems will disappear when they get the new person. sometimes its because their low self worth has been stroked by another, sometimes they don't see or want to see a future with their present relationship. sometimes they are just trying to escape because they are immature. also it has alot to do with belief systems, and character. a good man will try to work out the difficulties he has first before hand. sometimes its poor impulse control, and wanting something exciting and new.

Human, by nature, is a polygamous animal. If we take out all legal and social ristrictions from our life, human will again be polygamous. Answering your question, marriage is again a social (and legal now) ristriction to make human more human.
