my fiance at that time, took me on Christmas Eve to the beach and walked with me for awhile. Then drew a heart in the sand and got down on one knee and started to propose and I of course never heard the rest of it for I was crying so hard...and right after I accepted, a helipcopter that flies around at night dressed up like a sleigh with reindeer on Christmas Eve just went passed us, than he gave me his cell phone and said here call your parents..haha BEST NIGHT EVER....13 yrs later still going strong

My husband took me to a mountain and we walked on
a trail. There was a place overlooking a valley with rocks
to sit on and it was under a rock ledge. It was the most
perfect, cool, not cold or hot, evening - during sunset!
The scripture that immediately came to mind was:

Song of Solomon 2:14 (New International Version)
My dove in the clefts of the rock,
in the hiding places on the mountainside,
show me your face,
let me hear your voice;
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is lovely.

That really says it all!

He had a ring in his backpack.

We met in college and dated for a year, broke up and
lived in two different states for six years, then got back
together on the seventh year, and now we have been
happily married for almost seven years!

Mine is a funny story actually. I lived with my husband for three years before we got married. I knew he was about to propose to me and wanted to before his mom came from out of town to visit us. My niece came over and we spent the day together and when I got home my husband had candles lit and flowers sit out in my living room and dining room. My neice was going to leave but my husband told her no stay and he went to bed. He was going to propose to me that night. Well the next day his Mom was down and we were hurrying up trying to get ready. I was blow drying my hair with my head upside down I was in the buff when the bathroom door opened and there was my husband proposing to me. I really did not want it to happen that way but I will never forget it either lol.

OK, kind of a long story. I told him Sweetest Day was coming up (we met online; he was from California where they don't observe Sweetest Day), and I had mistakenly told him it was Friday, instead of Saturday (so Friday is when he had made all these plans for). Thursday, the day before he proposed, my parents gave us an early Christmas gift - a camcorder. (My mom was in on it all along).

The next day I walked into the living room after work, and it was filled with balloons and a "disco" light was flashing. Then music started playing, "Steppin' Out with My Baby" by Tony Bennett. When he sang the line "...with my top hat, and my white tie, and my tails", Sam slid into the room wearing a white tux & white top hat! He pulled me up and we danced to the rest of the song. Then he said he had a surprise for me and was taking me out to dinner. As we walked outside toward the car, a white limo pulled up! So we got in and went to my parents' house (he wanted to include them in part of the evening). We picked them up (and as far as I know that was the only time they ever got to ride in a limo), and we went to TGIFriday's, the same place where Sam & I had our first date. After dinner, we dropped my parents off and drove around for a while, as it turns out, killing time. Finally right at midnight -- which made it Sweetest Day, Sam got down on one knee, pulled out a ring, and proposed! Of course, I said yes, and of course I started crying. Then we went to a park where we could get out and videotape us in front of the limo.

The next day there was a special event going on where we got to meet Sam Butcher, the artist who created Precious Moments (which I collect), and we had two "engagement" figurines signed by him. It was a magical weekend that I'll never forget. We've been married over nine wonderful years!

P.S. Fireball, let's hear your story!!! :)

In a hotel. He waited until I fell asleep and slipped an engagement ring on my finger. I woke up, and went to the bathroom later, and felt something strange on my hand. I looked down, screamed, OMG! And came out and he was down on one knee, and asked if I'd be his wife.

I was curled up on the couch reading a book. He came out of the room and put the ring on the page I was reading and said, "So what do you think? You wanna be Mrs.________?" I smiled and said, "Sure. My schedule's open for the next 20 or 30 years."

That's our love language. :-)
