The Silver Surfer: has the abilities to change an opponents powers with contact, and since the Silver Surfer is fast, but not as fast, he can do that, meaning that Superman wouldnt even know how to use his powers, now since both of them can breathe in space all the Silver Surfer has to do is cut off his ability to breathe in outer space lol.
There's more than one way to win a fight over superior strength and ultimate defense

Superman was the first true 'Superhero', true there were costumed fighters of injustice like Zorro or Scarlett Pimpernel who established the archetype.

as the First he was created to have the most powers and the fewest weaknesses. as the DCU was created and populated with all of the others he was essentially the measuring stick used to grade how powerful they would be.

add to that that over the course of the 80 or so years he's been around various editors, writers, and artists have ebbed and flowed just how strong he is and others are in relation to him.

from What I've seen in various media(typically Superman based) He is still Strongest, but Batman is smarter, Flash is Faster, and considering that not all heroes have physical prowess, but mental abilities, or magic based powers.

so if he went head to head with Martian Manhunter, he'd likely get Brain F'k'd, when he battles the villain Mxyzptlk he usually takes his knocks, until he realizes its Mxy who is actually messing with him, then he's able react accordingly

So yes he is the strongest physically

but there are others in the DCU that can challenge and possibly defeat him 1 on 1

It greater advantageous efficient be! i'm so puffed up for this action image. After the utter failure of Superman Returns, i don't think of of something must be as undesirable as that. EDIT: i'm happy that the pink underclothes is long previous. the dress seems 100x greater advantageous efficient to me than the "ordinary" dress.
