So what exactly does these cramps mean? I feel like I am on my period. I have no other pains ; just very tired and out of it...does this mean he is pushing down or my body is preparing for birth? and exactly how long can these cramps last??

I'm 34 weeks too and get cramps once in a while. The doctor told me these contractions weren't serious unless i was getting more than 4 in an hour.If you are getting them frequently then you should go to the emergency room.

Relax, take it easy and talk to your doctor. You're probably stressing yourself out or doing a lot more work than you should be doing.I noticed i get these contractions only when im straining myself. You should try breathing deeply(or those breathing excercises you learnt at the childbirth classes),they help.

Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.Take care of yourself.

I am 37 weeks and have been having period cramping for the last 2 weeks. I went to the hospital tuesday and come to find out i was having contractions that were comming 2-5 mins apart. I was only dialated to 1cm so they sent me home and said to watch for more labor signs. They told me it was early active labor. I have still been having them but I havent went back to the hospital yet but its comming soon for me!
If they get to bad or you can time them and they are close I would go get checked!

Yes it is thoroughly typical....they are referred to as Braxton-Hicks contractions, they're well-nigh "train" contractions that your frame is going throught to get ready for the truly factor. As lengthy because the cramps are not regular (like going down each three mins) and they don't seem to be too painful then the whole thing's typical. BUT if they're inflicting critical agony then I'd speak to the document.

Sounds like possibly braxton hicks contractions. these are not as regular as labor pains, but about as painful as period or lower back cramps. they will probably continue until you deliver. My best friend started having them at 32 weeks until she delivered at 41 weeks.

I had them from 24 weeks until delivery 3 days shy of 40 weeks.

Its the feeling of your cervix changing as the uterus grows and the baby shifts.

Could mean both, your baby could be pushing down. Or you could be having braxton hicks. If they are braxton hicks they will last until you go into labor for real.

Call your OB. It could be Braxton Hicks or something but you're better off discussing it with your doctor or nurse.
