GREAT BRITAIN! ruled the world because it had the power - The greed! and the military might to do so. Also pioneers saw the world has one huge place to explore, in exploring this world they discovered wealth which in return brought more people to go out and explore and find yet more wealth.. It was almost unstoppable with nations and people who got in its way ending up being quelled and ultimately becoming part of the empire.

Its all about the navy. If you had a strong and powerful navy then you hade more access to the world and you could blockade other countrys. I would rather have the UK ruling the world than some country's who are trying to these days.

We was a remarkable little country,
but like all great powers it ends,
We made some errors' but who wouldn't with that power,
example if Ireland was the dominant power, and we was subdued, and Ireland ruled the sea'
,do you think they would have a squeaky clean history,,
Did the Greeks or the Romans not have mistakes
,There are those today who despise the British for their past
,some with undertones of envy or distaste,
but they must remember within their own history there was ,,
examples of chaotic cruelty

best navy, best inventors, best adventurours. Basically ,while the rest of the world was worrying about the state of their own country, we thought we would solve the problem by conquering others countries, and taking their resources. Was a pretty good plan....and hardly anyone tried to stop us.

It didn't rule the world. They were fighting the Spanish and France. Russia was also ruled by Emperors and Empresses. So they didn't rule the world. They wanted Scottland, but they already had a Queen.

the navy. we had the biggest and best in the world which allowed us to control many of the key trade routes making us financially rich which created a power huungry monster which decided it didn't just want to trade with the world but own it

amazing isnt it, even more amazing to see how quickly it crumbled ! i laughed when i saw chris pattern turn over Hong Kong to China....were left with people like tony blair, up the USA president`s ar*e, hes gone too !
