The Hobbit
The fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Return of the King

the hobbit is a precursor to the lord of the rings. its good for background info and to understand the lord of the rings more as a series. :).

LOTR - The Fellowships of The Ring
LOTR - Two Towers
LOTR - The Return of The King
But I recommend you to read The Hobbit first. Not a part of LOTR saga but it tell how Bilbo possesed the ring and his relationship with Gandalf.

I would suggest first reading the Hobbit (not a huge deal if you don't but its really good and short) then read the trilogy in order. The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King.

The Fellowship starts out really slow, but don't let that discourage you...they are all worth the time it takes to read them.

Well, I'm reading now The Silmarillion, it is the story of the first age of Tolkien's mythology, the beginning of the world as they know it. It is an excellent book, but I recommend to you to read it after you read The Return of The King. You'll find very interesting facts there!!!

And yes, read The Hobbit first.

Merci!!!
