what differences, if any, are their between a list of components derived from a physical inspection versus a list of components derived from My Computer and System Properties

nothing really since system properties only show what you have. but physical inspection only lets you see a kind of overview of the whole pc. unlike device manager in system in which a detailed prospective is presented as well as the drivers you are using for it, the type of devices, the irq settings and so on.

Ths list on the System properites might contain Logical componants that don't necessarily have an easy to find physical part, or are multiple on a single phyiscal chip.

I think: "My computer" is a list of ALL FILES on your computer, based upon the disk indexes stored upon the drives. System Properties is a detailed list of the computer's inspection of one of those files (the system registry, not based upon a hardware index).

the different is that the System Properties content all the properties of your computer such as system restore, hardware device.... meanwhiel My computer only show you the local drives on your pc such as C drive, D drive or the CD drive...
