AWFUL!

They aren't bad, they will get better. However, I don't see them making the playoffs unless they make some sort of drastic move that will displace Karel Rachunek as their #1 defenseman. Brodeur is also off to an uncharacteristically slow start, and he will turn it around.

It is still very early in the season, so no need to hit the panic button yet. However, when late December/early January rolls around and the Devils are still floundering, then there should be some concern amongst the Devils' faithful.

Let's see what happens when they get some home games. Constant traveling can take something out of even the best teams. Broduer also has a better career regular season winning pct. at home (around .640) as opposed to road(.515). in games started, even though he's looking a real old age 35 right now. Brent Sutter needs to get back to what the Devils do best, win low scoring games.

The Devils are still a very good team. Last year they hovered around 0.500 until mid November so I see the same thing happening as last year. Brodeur's numbers as far as GAA and SvPCT are ahead of last year's at the same time.

I'm looking at a season where they get 90-100 points, make the playoffs as a late seed.

people forget...............this team has another week of road games before their first home game on October 27th.

They are a 3-4 team on the road and 0-0 at home. It is often thought that if a team can dominate at home and go .500 on the road, it is a recipe for success. Let's atleast see how they do after playing ONE home game. I think they will be OK but just OK. Between 87-93 points, therefore not that bad.

They are still a very good team.

Few key guys are injured. Langenbrunner(groin) and White(eye). That's a key defenseman and a key forward.

No home game for 9 straight to start the season.

A lot of new players that are still gelling together.

Gionta hasn't started his hockey season yet.

It's still early in the Season.

Let's Go Devils!!!
