Damnskippy!

If these people feel that it is their "Duty" to pass drug legislation that doesn't work and punishes the Recreational Users more then anyone else then they should be held to the same standards that they are pushing on every other American!!

Bush has done coke...
Clinton did weed... (And he's from the south so I'm just assuming that he has done meth as well...)
Obama did weed...

WE ALL KNOW that they have all done drugs!

Why is it that a McDonald’s Employee needs a drug test but the people with their hands on "The Button" are not?????

They should be piss-tested daily if we can afford it!!

Now THIS is one Idea that I would go door to door with a signature pad to support!!

Lets take this from the Yahoo! Answer Boards to the Voting Booth!!!!!

YES! Why should I have to take random drug tests to work in front of a computer all day, but the people who RUN THE COUNTRY don't have to? I think they should set an example, ever heard of follow the leader?

Yes, and also test for communicable diseases as well, since the power trips that often come with elected office make some feel immune to what the 'common man' gets. Not to pick on one particular representative, but just because this is the most recent, wouldn't you want to know if Larry Craig had a sexually transmitted disease since he was accused of picking up men in restrooms? Or the interns, male and female, that often provide more than 'constituent service' don't you think they would like to know what they might be facing? I also think with all the drunks lately, they should be made to take breathalyzer tests before casting vote as well.

ABSOLUTELY!

Our tax dollars pay their salary. In order to make the income to pay taxes, we are required to pass a drug test. Therefore, the officials or anyone on welfare or any other program that draws from tax dollars should be required to pass one! If they can't pass it, they don't get whatever benefits they are applying for. PERIOD. There should be no ifs ands or buts about it!

No. What would it do for you? What would you do about it if they failed the test? Most politicians would probably be better elected officials if the took drugs and killed a few of their brain cells.
