No...you didn't need to boil the water at birth! He'll be fine. It's actually better for baby to have tap water (if, of course, your tap water is fine for human consumption) because it helps boost their immune systems. It's perfectly fine!

it can be 6 months, but it depends on a lot of things, like was baby prem...... I have 4 kids 3 of my kids were about 7-8 months when I gave them unboiled water. but when I was making them bottles I felt better using cool boiled water with their formular. I use my instincts a lot with my kids especially when they were little. My youngest was prem and I gave him cooled boiled water upto the age of 1 year. my other 3 was 7-8 months.
Always best to ask you health visitor anyway. But the ultimate decision is yours.

I started at 7 months for all 3 of mine and they were all fine! Like someone else said though if it is in London get a Britta as the water there is foul.

You're probably fine - if it makes you feel better though, you can wait until 12 mos. I think with my kids, I was super careful with baby #1 and with #2, I thought, "Oh, she'll be fine!" and she was! I'm sure I stopped boiling water by 6-7 mos. My kids were breastfed exclusively until 6 mos though.

If you live in a hard water area (like London) it might be worth investing in a Brita water filter jug - tastes nicer for you too!

my son is 7months and i was told by the health visitor & GP that its fine to make my son his juice from the tap!!
milk obviously from cooled boiled water

No that's fine! Just make sure you let the tap run for a minute or two before giving him any, so all the built-up lead (if any) can get flushed out.
