My husband received a promotion... this was many years ago... I was so proud of his accomplishments! I found a pen and pencil set that was made of wood, it changed as you used it from the oil in your hands... so it would always be unique... and special! He loved eagles so I also bought him a huge brass eagle for his office! I believe I found it at Hallmark... Good luck! I'm sure that what ever you come up with will be very special...

Is there something he may need for his new office? Desk set, name plate, wall decor, etc. (or is all that provided by his employer?) Or, if it is not a desk job, is there some other tool that would help him in his work? Blackberry, laptop, attache case, GPS for his vehicle, etc.?
What kind of clothes does he need for work--does he need a new suit or pair of shoes in order to "dress for success"?
If you aren't sure what to get him and would rather please than surprise him, then take him on a shopping spree to an office superstore, mall, or wherever you think would have items he could use. Just give him a range or budget in a card and either turn him loose or go with him to help pick the gift out. Top it off with a celebratory meal at his favorite restaurant.

Keep in small, but a bit pricey. Get a bottle of Chandon Star brute. It's a champagne. Pick up some herb Brie cheese and like 3 different types of crackers. Pick up some salmon caviar, sour cream and cream cheese. Pick up two movies that you know he'll like. Make a picnic in the living room on a blanket. Light only candles, wear something sexy and pop in a flick when he gets home. Pig out and watch some flicks. The rest will take care of itself. He'll never forget it. Good luck.

Holly, a nice meal out to celebrate would be a nice start. Then if wanted perhaps surprise him by reserving a nice hotel room and having a bit of a second honeymoon romantic getaway. Maybe go to the hotel for a nice meal then give him the key to the room and tell him you'll meet him there in ten minutes. Have a nice bottle of bubbly ready in the room and the fireplace lit by staff prior to your arrival. Then get yourself prepared and dressed in something you know he'd appreciate and have the time of your lives. Congrats to your husband for the promo and having such a caring and thoughful wife. Best of luck.

Get a baby sitter and take him out to a nice dinner when you get back in the car make sure no cops are around and take care of "little man" and don't let him stop you. He may resist a little but we are very weak and we only say stop so you won't think we were expecting it. Don't let him finish get him close and tell him to take you to a hotel (a cheap one) and treat you like a one night stand. You guys will never forget that night. It will allow you to date again.

Go out to his favorite restaurant and splurge. Have a few drinks laugh and have a good time. Wear something sexy and whisper to him that you want to show him how proud you are of him while you are teasing him under the table by rubbing his thigh almost all the way to you know where. I think he would love it.

boys! you're perverts! I guess I'm too old to think that way, but I agree w/ Judi... especially the "
Wear something sexy and whisper to him that you want to show him how proud you are of him while you are teasing him under the table by rubbing his thigh almost all the way to you-know-where... "
You don't really need to BUY him anything, just spend quality time with him... admire him... look longingly into his eyes with an "I'm so proud of you" look.
He won't forget it.

My husband had to wait 8 months before a job came through and he was so good about it. I took him out to dinner and encouraged him to get whatever he wanted and I wrote him a letter saying how proud I am of him. It is so nice to see wives caring for thier husbands Your husband is blessed to have you. Enjoy yourself whatever you do and Congratualtions:)

Take something he likes to do, but you don't necessarily like to do and have him teach it to you. My wife had me show her how to swing a golf club once and I absolutely loved to share with her something that I loved to do.
