everyone has a "blue" period of time now and again, and you should not try to avoid it, you feel that way for a reason and should listen to your body and mind, they are talking to you. Go with the flow, understand yourself and why this is occuring now, and it will pass.

First of all, don't avoid it! That's very important. Look at it with deep thought, look at yourself and your lifestyle, your friends, your family. Everyone has days that they feel somewhat depressed. Sometimes it's caused by a chemical imbalance. This occurs at various times of the month for women, old or young, they all feel it. Men do as well but in different ways. We all fall victim to it's clutches.
What to do about it? Indeed, a very interesting question but one that does have an answer, several answers.
What may be good for one, may not be for another.
Sometimes our focus is lost, or clouded. This is something that can be readily corrected.
Regaining control, your focus, your desire, is not terribly easy but it is obtainable.
You know yourself, you know what makes you happy and what makes you sad.
When we shift our focus to the sad things we feel depressed, when we do the opposite, we feel those moments again, those happy things that make us all smile.
If you enjoy comedy, stand up comedy, then get a tape of a comedian that you enjoy. You'll laugh till you feel like you will burst. I know that you will feel better doing this or something like it.
The point is, do what you enjoy, what your heart tells you to do.
Now, I realize that this is long winded but, I tend to do that anyway. In that vein, I will relay a bit of my own life, a brief capsule, if you will.
Many years ago, when I was fresh out of the Air Force. I found it difficult to find a job and sought employment in the easiest form that I could. That was factory work, at minimum wage. I could hardly pay my bills but I got it done. Still, I was unhappy. I changed jobs and got a job with the promise of getting a better position. I worked at this position and visited the art department as often as I could and learned to do what they did, yet, when an opening came up, they chose someone else. The head of the department wanted me but the plant manager did not. I made it a point, from then on, to seek out those jobs that I wanted. Most were technical in nature and required some training. I trained myself, I did very well. I was a professional photographer for over 35 years. Once it became burdensome, I chose another career. I did that for many more years until I retired. Best of all, I was happy, very happy. You too, can do the same.
Best of luck, Rick

First off, feeling down for 2 days does not constitute depression. But your feelings are telling you that something is missing. I dont know whats going on in your life. But feelings of sadness are your emotions way of telling you that you need to change something. Listen to your feelings and do something about your situation.

I don't believe you are depressed, bored maybe, tired maybe, sad maybe. Find something to do with your time. Meet with friends, call someone, read a book, etc. as for books here's a good one.
