I pay for medical insurance for my kids and child support. should the money from child support pay for dental work?

I beleive it is separate. In my husband's divorce decree it states medical, vision, and dental all separetely. I'd say if it dosent state them specifically, then you arent responsible for them. Just a fluke of the family court systems!

Child support pays for what ever the child needs so if they need dental work then yes its to pay 4 that but usually the parents do a 50/50 thing on that unless stated other wise. Whoever is collecting the child support can even pay portions of the ultilites w/ that money.

When I think of 'medical' I think of doctor visits. I believe that medical and dental are separate. That's why when you sign up for insurance at your job, medical and dental are two separate types of insurance. If you carry medical, why not dental? Does the mother have dental on them? If not, I believe that HALF of the bill should be covered by your child support, and the other half should be her responsibility. But to be on the safe side, since you have medical coverage, maybe she should get dental (if she doesn't already)

Child support falls under housing, food & clothing. Unfortunately, All medical (including dental) must be split equally between parents. My daughter just had a $1000 root canal last spring, her father had to pay $500. And he does pay child support as well.
