With all the horrible stories I hear about people being mean, I thought it might be nice to have a list to look at of NICE things people do. I'll share mine in a bit in details.

My goodness, this is gonna be a hard one to pick a best answer on. I might just let all of you vote instead!
Reading all these has made me feel warm and fuzzy inside...there really ARE still nice people out there :)
Here's mine: Last night at work, some crazy lady came through the line wanting to buy a dog toy (I work as a cashier at a pet store). It wasn't something she even needed or anything, but it turned out she didn't have enough money. She wanted to take it with her and bring the money back later (yeah right, any of you in retail will understand why I obviously wouldn't do that) She started getting mad at me and made me call the manager up to talk to him - I was being perfectly nice, but whatever. So he came up and GAVE HER $5 out of his pocket.
It was either one of the nicest or one of the dumbest things I've ever seen someone do. I haven't decided yet lol. (I guess I probably would have done it to...but I literally had no money whatsoever on me). Keep it coming!

I pulled up to an ATM machine one day and saw a wallet sitting on top of it... I looked inside to find ID and saw a signed Escrow check for $15,000, a wad of cash, and several credit cards. His social security card was even in there! I tried to track down his phone number or find his address and drove all over the city to return his wallet and money that night. He was an older man and you could tell that he wasn't wealthy... that money was probably everything he had to live off of. If the wrong person would've found that wallet it would have been sooo easy to steal his identity. I felt like I did a great thing that day, and it made me feel even better because he was so nice and grateful. :o)

I always try to do small, nice things for people. whether it be holding a door open or helping someone pick up what they've dropped.
The nicest thing that anyone has done for me was when I went to get some food for a dinner I was cooking and I lost my wallet somewhere in between and I was nervous because it had all of my important things in it. I was almost in tears trying to figure out where it was at and the guy who was behind me told the clerk to put it on his bill. It was like $20 worth of stuff and he wouldn't give me his name or anything. I wanted to pay him back but he wouldn't let me. I was very thankful.

A old woman fell in the street at the junction where a lot of cars are speeding past and many people stopped traffic, got out of their cars and made sure she was okay. One person even drove her to the hospital.

I was coming out of the grocery store...the elderly lady ahead of me tripped and fell...and she fell hard right on her knees. I threw all my stuff down and helped her and called her family member on my cell, and waited until they got there. She didn't want 911.....
