Looks like their religious intolerants are no better than our religous intolerants.

Nuclear weapons and wars are international issues that affect the world; unjust executions are internal matters within a country. And it is rare that countries interfere with each other's internal affairs. Look at Darfur.
In the case of Iran's policy toward homosexuals, starting a war over that would cause more bloodshed than is already taking place, and so would be of doubtful value.
But each situation has to be looked at on its own merits.

Under the law of certain countries anyone accused of homosexual behaviour is facing a death sentence, often under terrifying and abhorrent conditions, without proper trials, rumour is sufficient to get you hanged in most countries operating under a variety of religious laws, a simple way of disposing of those you do not like.

Many organisations across the world, not just those that support gay rights, but many other human rights organisations, such as Amnesty are constantly campaigning on this issue.

The problem is very complex, the accusation can easily be made that we are interfering in the laws of other lands, much the same way as certain people claim that allowing certain groups religious and cultural freedoms in the UK undermines our laws.

A lot of the countries that have laws that condemn gay men to death are also those oil rich countries that the West dare not upset.

Can you also imagine the outcry from certain members of the British Press, already violently anti-immigration, becoming aware that, say two thousand people had been allowed entry to Britain simply because they were gay. The far right in Britain would be breathing fire. Church groups would be marching down the streets.

There are still a majority of people both in Europe and the US that still think being gay is a curable illness, there are still a number who believe that it is a choice and that you do not need to be gay, that you can change back if you want to. Look at some of the attitudes on this web-site, read some of the answers.

If two or more people accuse you of being gay, your dead, simple as that. If you think that is harsh think about how we in Europe and the USA see paedophiles, if a man is accused of something by just one boy, that is it, he is guilty, he must be imprisoned for life, yet that boy could be lying because that man told him not to throw stones. It does happen.

The way that we see paedophiles is the way that under Islamic law Muslims see gay men.

It is not as simple as just allowing people that are claimed to be gay or feel gay to be able to travel and live here either. How do you know, how do you prove that someone is gay, how do we know that they are not terrorists, knowing that Europe or the USA will let you in simply because you claim to be gay would be a ticket that the bombers and killers would love to exploit.

As a gay man, I find what goes on in certain countries very difficult to deal with, but until those people in the countries concerned decide, if ever, that their laws are wrong deaths will happen.

IT is not just a gay issue, women suffer terribly in certain countries, they can be sexually abused and tortured without the protection of the law, anyone speaking out against an attrocity will find themselves next in line.

This is not just an Islamic issue either, far from it, their are countries all across the globe, muslim, christian and others that will execute people for almost nothing, find out how gays are treated in Jamaica, South America, most of Africa, and lets not forget Matthew Sheppard was American.

I would not say that being gay is as safe as it looks in London either.

I hope that in trying to keep my comments brief I have not lost my meaning, but, as I said the issues are very complex.

that's ill and yet another occasion of ways persons are so worried of society no longer understanding to their astonishing expectancies. in certainty: gay human beings exist and that they are not going everywhere. yet human beings have this concept of a suited society with women and adult adult males individuals... yet particularly, it would not make sense to harm human beings for homosexuality. I advise, increasing strategies of affection would not make the international much less suited. human beings could desire to attain that there is plenty hate interior the international... why human beings love while it comes alongside?

It is going against their law, they hate gays so they think it would be better to kill them rather than have them live. But in countries like that as well, child molestation is completly fine with them and they can't get in trouble for it.

The US does provide status as refugee to anyone who can show that they are in imminent danger of being killed if they remain in their country. A person would have to apply for that status and request immigration.

I completely agree. It's 'uncool' to help homosexuals, we won't even help them in this country! No way would we step in somewhere else. It's sick and sad I know...
