...due to the erronious belief that homosexuality is a learned response in all cases, then why do they stop there. Why do they not polygraph perpective parents and teachers for signs of cheating on their taxes, adultery, and even driving infractions? Some of these things are actually dangerous and/or harmful. In addition these behaviours can really be modelled, as opposed to homosexuality. Face it if this modelling applied to homosexuality then there would be no homosexuals coming from straight parents. Perhaps my believe that sexuality is a natural trait we are born with is correct?

Adrian: You might want to do a bit of research. Many states have adoption laws which preclude gay couples from adopting. Openly gay teachers have also been terminated under different pretexts.

For all the good... Gay couples encounter road blocks in many states. Tennessee's is still trying to tighten laws in order to prevent this.

I agree. I never understood why we, as a society, should criticize people for who they LOVE. It's absurd. Why not focus on those who hurt other people???

The media will go for the most popular thing and what the local goverment will back up. Since gay rights is a very touchy subject they will stay as far away from it because there are more republicans the democrats, from what they see in the government, around. Due to that trend they will stay away from anything that will offend the republicans. Even in California and the more democratic areas of the nation gay rights being given or taken away is hardly a topic of conversation in media or anywhere else. Its too risky for anyone because it is still a new and forbidden subject. From political stand points it's suicide for the career of a politician to say anything in regards to the subject. Obama never took an official stance and he was elected president but the people he was running against in the primaries that did say anything about gay rights were dropped before it went down to him and Hilary. And if you don't remember she never mentioned it either. Its unfortunate that it is never mentioned but it's up to the community to shed light on what has been going on for anyone to notice that there is still a huge rift being placed between the straight community and the gay community that needs to be closed quickly.

I would be interested to see where, recently, a teacher has been let go because he or she was gay. Do you have that?

Gay couple cannot adopt in many states...Wisconsin, Florida, etc. But gay singles can! Crazy...but true, at least in Wisconsin. How do I know...been there, done that. We adopted our 2nd in Milwaukee...we changed nothing, the social workers just failed to mention that we were a gay couple and it went through as a single parent adoption. I hated it, but what's to be done?

That will change.
But you sound as if you believe it will get worse. Why? Have I missed some major change of events in the last few days? I hope not...it has to get better!

:-)

Yes, well I think it's because "they" are simply affraid to find anything that is too easily shown to be more prevelent in their own lives that would reflect badly on "them."

Yes, I do agree that sexuality is without question inborn.

But in almost every state (with the exception of Florida) adoption by a single person or glbt is actually legal. So, you're just a bit off on that one. Also, there are no states which prohibit glbt's from teaching in public schools.

Yeah, and why stop there? Why not prevent heterosexual who commit crimes of tax fraud, adultery, and driving infractions from ever having kids? And why not sterilize the already born children of such people in order to prevent the bad driving gene from getting passed on to another generation? It's madness, I tell you. Madness!!

Your belief is right on the money. I don't believe it is a learned behavior. If they would sit back and really think about it, logically, they would have to come to the same conclusion. But alas, this doesn't happen.

I think it's wrong to deny gays the right to adopt or teach. We should deny pedophiles the right to adopt or teach. Good luck. 2D

Homosexuality is not necessarily a _learned_ behavior, but it _IS_ a conscious decision.

IMO, practicing homosexuals of either gender? should not have access to influence children.
