Can you imagine what he could do for the Devil Rays? That team is loaded with talent and if he could persuade the GM to spend a little more money, he could have a championship team in a few years!

The New York Mets.............If anyone can make a team out of them Torre can..........I don't blame Randolph for anything that happened with the Mets but Torre is a strong manager with a firm hand and that might be something Randolph was lacking...........CAT Just an addition to my answer........It would keep Torre's "work" in NY and I think he might want that........CAT

he will by no skill cope with yet another team, he's sixty seven years previous, he has purely refused an supply from the american brass, and that i think of he will retire. Joe Torre is going to the hall of recognition, he is going to get his variety retired as a yankee, and he is going to get a monument, in monument park in yankee stadium, he has not something to coach, and that's a tragic day for the american u . s ., this is the tip of an era, and a dynasty. you will me neglected Joe you would be neglected.

I can see Bobby Cox retiring and being replaced by Torre. He could manage there for 50 years without winning the World Series and they wouldn't get mad at him.

I see him as the bench coach with the Mets. That way, he can impart his knowledge to Willie, who he likes, stay in NY to rub George's nose in it, stay in the game, but have no pressure. Maybe that'll lead to Posada switching boroughs, too.

Not sure if Willie would like having him there, though. Talk about not having no pressure.
