I don't think the government wants to build a wall and I think the half hearted attempt it is making at a wall is to pacify the American people. The wall, even if constructed properly and completed will not be enough. We need to start putting important people in prison for allowing their businesses to aid illegals. Only then, when a few CEOs, hospital administrators, landlords, school board presidents, and individuals who are having their lawn mowed cheap are in prison for a long time will the rest of those luring and enticing illegals to come here will stop their criminal activities. With no work, no services and no help the WILL leave.
My vote for president is already earmarked to vote against Clinton so it will not be affected by the wall.

My thought is that we should of used some of that 5-7 trillion US dollars we wasted in Iraq on building a Nice big wall on our South AND North borders, its not just mexicans that are illegals. I also agree that the Government doesn't want that Wall built as much as the American citizens do.
I don't think the Mexican government really cares that their people are illegally crossing into another country, so I figure we should just build a wall 15 feet high made out of reinforced cement with a Watch-tower Every 5 miles behide the border and also recommand to the mexican government that either start taking drastic measures in stopping their people from crossing our borders or else WE take drastic measures after a few warnings onto the mexicans crossing and the mexican government capital.
Meh, just me rambling.

They are not building it high enough, long enough or fast enough for me. Well we all know that Hillary will vote for a free high speed train system from Mexico to the closest welfare office in the United States, of course funded by US citizens. So she is out.

I wish they would start and finish it already. If the people running for president are against it, they WON'T get my vote.
There's too many american citiznes(born or imigrated here and got their visa) who need jobs, health care, financial help, and how can they get it if it's going to people who didn't earn their citizenship in the first place?
The biggest waste of time and money is the fact that there are illegal people in here practically robbing us. It's not a waste to me because it would actually help us out. I also agree that the government doesn't want it as much as Americans do.
If there were millions of Canadians coming here illegally, then yes, we should. But it' not Canadians, it's Mexicans who are doing it. It would be nice to kind of shut ourselves from the world and just make sure our country is doing well for a while....
That's how I look at it though..

Why would they build a wall in Canada when tens of millions come from Mexico and less than hundreds from Canada?

It is absolutely absurd.
The US/Mexican border is 2000 miles of some of the most rugged, desolate terrain in North America. One third of it goes down the middle of a river, and a third over the roughest mountains on the continent, it's not like building a fence in your back yard.
It would be a huge waste of taxpayer money that could be better used elsewhere, (walls have to be maintained after being built, not a cheap task), complete fiscal irresponsibility.

The "government" does not seem to want it built as much as the American citizens do.
We are probably one of the very few nations on earth who needs to build a wall to keep people out instead of in.

the immigration issue is what will get the next person elected. I believe it's time we close our borders all together. We are running out of farm land due to the fact that towns are having to grow out because of the immigrants. The wall is a great idea, it should be taller and electrified as well.

Damn good idea... Should put up some sniper towers to... shoot everyone within a 2 mile range. No reason to wait around. Just make it about 100 feet tall with out 20 ft think concrete with 50 feet reinforced steel... Build an advanced radar system to intercept missles and other nukes etc. that can also shoot down planes. Better yet, just send up a high power laser into orbit have it patrol the border from space... you'll never know when it will strike...

The "wall" is actually a high fence. I would prefer they build a wall for we need to stop the influx of illegal immigrants and they don't care about our laws enough to stop coming here.
