Some philosophers are able to lead men ('little men') to a bad education; if those philosophers belong to the western culture or are influenced by the last one.
You should read those books below about the educational decadence (violence in the schools…) see the term BIO-POWER (Foucault, Michel).
Foucault, Michel, "THE HISTORY OF SEXUALITY". Within Technologies of the Self… (University of Massachusetts press, 1988, p. 153). (The philosopher expresses his personal position about the neo-liberalism thanks to his term/concept BIO-POWER).
Foucault, Michel, "THE POLITICAL TECHNOLOGY OF INDIVIDUALS". Within Technologies of the Self…
Marshall, James, D "SKILL, INFORMATION AND QUALITY FOR THE AUTONOMOUS CHOOSER". Within Education, Democracy and Reform…(1995)
– see the term BUSNO-POWER (human manipulation within the educational system)

Your heart beats, can you do anything about it?

Are you asking about another person? How to make them your... slave, I would call it? TV is making many people conduct themselves in various ways... Maybe your answer is TV.

Your questions is beyond vague. Might as well ask, "How shall we comport the question?" It comports itself in a way, in another way, it doesn't behave at all. People may be outside the realm of conduction.

No matter, I've just made you read all this... or did I?
