He gives some good advice and really wants the best for African-Americans. Education is what he stresses, and it really is what makes the difference between poverty and success. I hope he's taken seriously.

What did he say to the NAACP?
How come he doesn't put his words into action? He's an educator....PhD....what are his solutions? Write a book and get paid to keep talking about what many already know but offer no solutions?
While I agree with him wholeheartedly...I'm left wondering if he's ever going to offer solutions...since he obviously feels he is qualified to speak about this....then why not build a school in Harlem somewhere, staff it with people who can address the WHOLE issues, and try to affect change that way. Otherwise, he's merely parrotting what Cornel West said 12 years ago in his book Race Matters.

In many ways he is correct, but does his speech define every African American, no. What he said regarding the stats of African Americans is very much true, but I would hate to think that someone who is not African American listen to him and make judgement on the whole entire race. Which is what happens most of the time in these types of situations. Someone from the African American Community speaks out and every person that is not of that race think, that defines the whole entire race. There are minorities that do not fit in those categories or stats.

He's right. I know that to some people it is not politically correct, but he is right.
