man ive had the same problem and the problem is mental nothing physica. your thinking to hard not to mess up when our playing at school cause you dont want people to see when you do something wrong...when your at home and no one is watching your thinking about what you should do right. next time you hit the court think about executing the play, and dont dwell on trying to not mess up. let the game come to you, dont force it.

There is nothing wrong with passing the ball and getting other teammates involved. There is a problem if you have good shots you are not taking. You can attribute all of this to "confidence" and you probably feel more comfortable passing the ball than shooting at this time. At some point in time you will begin to realize there are certain shots you can make the majority of the time and you will begin to take those shots, and I would not press the issue until you have that "confidence".

You are out of your comfort zone. Your home is your comfort zone. Spend more time playing at school than home to develop confidence.

Don't forget EVERY hoop is different...there are little differences that can make you feel uncomfortable and less confident. A change in hoops means a slight change in hoop height, rim tightness/looseness, court lighting, wooden floor, rubber floor and driveway all make different sounds when you bounce...unfamiliar sounds.....plus the bounce back and feel is a little different. At home you may have your favorite ball but at school they use a different style ball with a different feel.

I'm sure you're young...older experienced players know how to adapt and modify their game to accommodate different courts. That's why high school, college and pro teams all shoot better and play better on their home court compared to away....subtle differences.

Pressure! At home no one is watching, but at a game everyone is counting on you and that's when PRESSURE kicks in!
