It is easier but not everything that comes easy is always worth it......sometimes the things we work harder for are more worth it in the long run.....So, with that dear friend, the line happens to be crossed when you emotionally depend on that person and discuss things that you should be discussing with your spouse......
Question: would you say the same things to this person if your spouse were there in the room with you? If you wouldn't, then you know in your heart that you are crossing the line......

I would assume it would be easier to talk to someone on the internet has they can be bias, not display judgement for not knowing the whole story. On the internet anyone can say anything they want to and to make an impression on others who do not really know them. The line is crossed from internet friends to wanting more and arrangements are made to meet in person. Then depending on the intentions, the relationship either escalates to more.

I gave you a star. I will think about this for awhile, and will answer in more detail after I am done thinking and reading other's answers. =) ok here is my input... yes, sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger when your spouse/friends/family/boss in real life do not listen to what you have to say, or even try to understand you. After you have exhausted all possibilities of communicating w/ them, then, yep, some come onto the internet looking for someone who will listen... the line is crossed when you start talking to the opposite sex... =(... instead of communication w/ your spouse... you vowed when you got married, you need to keep those vows... when your spouse breaks the vow, then, you need to give them an ultimatum... no beating around the bush... and that's that... don't settle... and hope they choose you instead of their selfish ways... then, you can feel free to communicate w/ the opposite sex after the divorce...

I believe the line is crossed when there is a mention of sex between the two., public meeting, and phone conversations.

Just talking to someone else period to me would be infidelity if there are any shady intentions in the conversation.

When the talk turns sexual, and into phone calls, and into a meeting.
Sometimes it's easy to spill to a person who you have never seen cause you just need someone to listen.

As long as you're not doing the cam to cam thing or meeting in person, I don't see a problem with it.
