why would you?..what service are they actually providing to you...you dont sit and they come take your order, they dont check on you once you get your food, they dont refill drinks..you need to go up and get them....but one thing you can do...is if you get good service somewhere remember to call later and talk to a manager and let them know you enjoyed your visit and had great service.....helps get employees raises.

I want to know why any one thinks we should tip them. The service is usually not the best, the environment usually not so clean (The last time my daughter played in a Mcdonalds play area she found human feces which had already been reported and they simply left it there for the next shift to clean), and the attitude that I received from a manager at Mcdonalds who was working the register last week has made me decide to never go back there. I realize they make minimum wage, but they are making more than a waitress from the company. Servers in a restaurant get payed a buck 25 an hour in all the states that I have ever served in. That is why they don't get tipped.

You don't tip at any fast food restaurant because the workers make at least minimum wage. Restaurants where you are served at your table require tips because these servers make a different minimum wage (somewhere around $4.00/hr). Tips are considered part of their actual wage and have to be claimed as such on taxes. Servers who work at decent restaurants can average $10-50 an hour or more depending on the amount of tables they receive, the quality of service and the gratitude the customers supply. However, some fast food restaurants have tip jars at the register where one can provide a tip if they wish. For restaurants the minimum tip by state law, at least in NY, is 15%. The average tip should range between 15-25% of the total bill, if you're a decent person.

The term "tip" originated in England during the last century; its definition is "to insure promtness". This references the speed with which one is served, usually in a restaurant setting.
Not a "fast food" establishment. It is presumed in our society that there is no point, no need to leave a "tip" at a McDonalds or Taco Bell; because one is going to receive the same swiftness of service regardless.
Comprendo?

i don't know about Taco Bell, but I don't think the workers at McDonalds are allowed to take tips. A friend told me he tried to tip them once and they weren't allowed to take it.

this question is just plain dumb. Do they come to the table to wait on you? No, they don't even get your drink anymore, you get your own. Most McDonalds and Taco Bell's floors are nasty.

Simple. Because we don't get full service. No one brings the food, napkins, and utensils (what utensils) to your table. There is no-one to clean the dishes, no one gives you water, and there is no one who specifically prepares a meal for you.
If we start tipping the cashiers at McDonald's for doing their jobs, we might as well also tip the cashiers at Walmart, or CVS or any other store.

Some people do....
And I don't know where you all have eaten, but certain MD's and TB's make the cashiers do "floor duty" which means they have to go round to each table helping them and cleaning up while they're doing that. You all must be the Sunday crowd who come in and act really rude even though you just got out of church....

I'll tell you why they SHOULD get tipped. Cause it's not an easy job and they get paid a wage that NO one could live on. You think cause you sit in your car at the drive thru-it's an inconvenience to you? You're just lazy. Don't criticize people until you've done there jobs. Do you tip your doctor or your dentist?? Be nicer people. If ya don't wanna tip, then don't. But don't say why these people don't deserve it.

It is not necessary to tip at fast food restaurants, but some people choose to leave a tip anyway.
