Requim for a Dream- When the credits started rolling I was staring at the screen in shock at the ending. It was intense. Very depressing.

The Heart is Deceitful "above all things"
It's so raw and depressing the day after I saw it I went out an bought it. Well I am a Argento fan and let me tell you this movie really was disturbing and hard to watch but it was great. This movie disturbed me more then the film Happiness and I did not think that was possible. I have seen a lot of depressing films but this one in the clear winner. Being a parent it really made a strong impact on me. I must say of you have not seen this film rent it.

OK..the most depressing movie I've ever seen (and the book was equally depressing) was Angela's Ashes. It was about this poor family in Ireland.

Love Liza, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. Hands down the most depressing movie I have ever seen, PLUS it was in the comedy section of the rental place!

Bloody Sunday - It is such a realistic portrayal of the 1972 massacre in Northern Ireland, it actually makes you feel like you're there. I cried through the whole flick and then for a while after wards. The film is absolutely heart wrenching.

I agree Requiem for a Dream (if you rented this movie from Blockbuster you missed the most horrible scene, and you should keep it that way)

Requiem from a dream. Another movie is the color purple. Especially the part where they made Sofia a maid (more like a slave) and she was like a ghost of what she used to be.. life was sucked out of her.. ugh, just thinking about it makes me feel terrible!

The only one I could remember right now is The Pianist,
I've seen it a couple of times and both times I cried, when
I see everything those people went through.
