MEs are doctors and are sometimes wrong. Indeed there are many legal cases where other MEs have been brought in as a second opinion.

Despite Quincy/CSI/Jordon/Bones, Cause of death is usually a very difficult thing to determine. At best, you can say that "He probably died of the gaping gun wound" cause you didn't find anything ELSE that might have killed him milliseconds before.

If you've ever looked at an ME's report, it is filled with "XXX is consistant with YYY", not "XXX was caused by YYY". They don't know and have no way of proving.

It may be that the ME in question found another cause MORE LIKELY to have killed the guy and we're not hearing about it for other reasons.

Or he may just be outright wrong. It happens.

Attorneys are paid to spin - either way. That is why there are so many lawyer jokes. They will argue a case for whatever side they are being paid to arugue for. Personally, I think that the 9-11 fallout was directly responsible for thousands of case of lung disease.

Where else could the dust have come from? He is trying to protect the pockets of the state from having to settle a huge lawsuit from all the people who are sick as well as the people who have already lost someone.

no one seems to want to think that the dust and debris from the recovery caused thousands of cancers and deaths. It is true though it has caused the deaths.
