Yes, I know shes a fraud, she encourages kids to lie to their parents.
But since all this stuff in her books are so subtle. I want to know this.
She says this in Teen Witch
- If you parents don't want you practicing the craft, tell them that we practice angels, because heck everyone likes angels.
I know it's lying, but what if it's the only way to make my parents understand (I have never tried this and I dont plan to)?
The she goes on saying what real witches do, like
in To ride a silver broomstick she says.
One cannot be a Satanic Witch, because witches don't believe in satan.
Real witches do not.
-Tell lies(but she advocates lying)
-summon demons or devils, we are simply arent that dumb.
Someone once told me that when they left the craft, they're lives are much worse. Witches are better off in life than others
(It's not a matter or agreeing or disagreeing, but she makes alot of sense. )
But all of this makes perfect sense.

I was so much happier when I joined the craft. Everything gets better when things go bad.
Oh by the way, if i used wicca and wichcraft interchangebly, I'm sorry i know they arent the same, but I cant help saying it like that.

I'm not seeing the question.
That woman has massacred the Wiccan faith. The Wiccan path isn't for everyone, it is NOT universal. No pagan path is. We recognize this and embrace it. Research the ancients and it makes sense.
But I digress.
If this is the path you choose then so be it. If you are underage, then this is how it is. Your parents roof, your parents rules. You don't need to advertise your faith. You don't have to magic or cast circles. It's a religion, not ritual.

The confusion you have seems to be between witch and wicca, they are not the same thing. witches have many natural abilities most from childhood. wiccans are taught spells and rituals they follow the three fold law, in other words what you send out comes back to you. There must be balance in everything. wiccans do not belive in the devil heven or hell as this is a christian belief. A lot of witches come from a long family lineage of witches going back over 100 years or more.

Her "real witch" list is complete garbage. Witches are no more perfect than any other human. Of course some witches lie. In fact, I would say most witches lie at least occasionally. I would also say that most Christians lie at least occasionally, and they have a freaking commandment against it! Does that suddenly make them a "fake Christian"? Of course not. It just makes them human.
She also presumes that witches are all Wiccan. There is such a thing as a Satanic witch. It's person who practices magic and worships Satan. We don't own the word. Just because I don't believe in Satan doesn't mean no one does.
As far as lying to parents if its the only way to get them to understand...you're arguing that the ends justified the means. You WANT them to let you study Wicca, and you think that justifies lying to them. That is totally unethical. On top of which, lying to them in no way helps them to "understand" because you've given them garbage information.
Parents have the right to control a minor's religious education. If you want them to understand, talk to them honestly. If they still forbid you to study, honor their wishes until you are 18. We don't always immediately get what we want. Part of being ethical is admitting that, as well as considering that there are needs and wants involved here besides your own.

Ultimately religion is between you and the "Powers that be". In fact, I see no reason to ever lie about your beliefs, even if your parents freak. Consider that its a test of courage/bravery on remaining true to yourself and to others. You can believe what you want- no one can take that away, but the actual practices can be tough until you come of age.
Also know that Christ is very typical of a Harvest/Sun god, who was sacrificed for the good of all. Witches might say we don't worship him, but our god 'dies' each year through the solar calendar.
I do not like Ravenwolf and her suggestions to teens. Lying is wrong no matter who or what you are. Don't say anything is preferable than outright lying, and she is suggesting a breakdown of communication between parent and child-a bond that should be made stronger, not weaker, as the years go by.
I waited until I was on my own before practicing my religion, but my own beliefs were MINE as I was a teen

Silver Ravenwolf has no idea what true witchcraft is, and she knows a whole lot of misinformation about wicca. She is not a real Witch. She is not a real Wiccan. She is a real Fraud, and makes no sense. She has seen to that herself.

No, no, no. Ravenwolf has undesirable history, questionable ethics, and that i heavily doubt that she has any theory what she is speaking approximately. different's have given you magnificent essays to study on some very solid motives to avert her books. i could stay faraway from Eileen Holland besides, i've got in basic terms study one among her books even though it grew to become into crammed with misguided suggestions. i does no longer have confidence her the two.

You say you'll be 18 in January, you need to take a few months off and start again from scratch.
You are confused, ethically questionable, and a habitual liar.
Wiccans are supposed to be held to a higher ethical standard than cowans, and you currently fail as an ethical anything.
You're not ready for an initiation or dedication, let alone a first degree.

I didn't know she wrote that.
I don't know much about her; but I do know many are not fond of her. I read "To Ride..." years ago; she covered "101" turf well enough, but I wasn't too impressed.
"Outing" to parents is legitimate a concern - there are fundie parents who would do some dispicable things (some have), and teens need to be careful. In a perfect world, yes, we can all be honest, but if you would face harm by being honest at a point in which you cannot provide for your own resources, discretion may be necessary.
Lying is wrong, but lying under duress can be less wrong than a truth that endangers someone (including yourself). If you were being interrogated by a terrorist who wanted national defense secrets you had, few would condemn you for lying. If your best friend's ex-lover was on a murderous rampage, you would not be wrong for misleading the lover as to yuor friend's whereabouts. Ideally, one would hope that "outing" to a parent would not be so drastic, but with some fundies, one truly cannot take that for granted.

I tend to cut Silver Ravenwolf a bit more slack than some. She has her good points and her bad ones. With every book or text you come across in all pagan beliefs you have to take a deep look at the basic core of it and take what you can use from each. We as seekers need to be skeptics but also be open to others ideas and take what applies to us in our lives. I love Scott Cunningham but there are parts of his books that I simply can't use in my life. I can accept that and I still love his writings. So hon....have confidence in your own abilities to disconcern what you need and disregard the rest until they apply to your journey. The Goddess and God will send you what you need when you need it. That is the truth of our way. As long as you strive to Harm None then you can't go wrong. You have been dealing with a lot of crap in school and from others there as well as at home. Think of this time as a learning experience and try to get from it as much as you can. It will make you stronger, more sensitive to others and strengthen you in your craft ways in the future. Remember to trust in the balance of life. When the pendulum swings one way it can't stay there forever. It will go the other way sooner or later. Blessed Be.....Crone

not sure what the point is so iam gonna answer the only question in this about parents. show them the truth about what you are doing so they can tell the truth from common misconceptions. If they are still not convicened remind them that this is your choice and at the end of the day all they can do is respect it
