The Constitution is a fundamental make up of ANY government.
It does not have to include any of the 3 branches that the USA constitution does. It is a legal document that sets up the start of the rule of the land.
Changes can happen on a whim if the country is a puppet government. In the USA changes need to happen VERY slowly with much thought of the future.

The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the USA. It's the definitive 'guide' by which our country is supposed to be governed. As with any document like this it isn't perfect. But our founders were a group of very smart people who put a lot of thought into the writing of the Constitution and, for the most part, it has served us well. It shouldn't change at all. In fact, it is critical that we don't change it. Once we start messing with it, we might as well throw out our very way of life.

The Constitution itself sets up the federal government with strict limitations on its power to ensure that it can't encroach on the liberties of the people. The Bill of Rights further protects our rights from the government. There have been quite a few good amendments to the Constitution (ending slavery and women's suffrage come to mind), but there's also the potential for supreme idiocy (the 27th Amendment always gets under my skin); that's why the Constitution is so hard to change, and rightfully so. It wasn't meant to change with the times, since its lessons and rules are timeless; I think we'd be very well off if we left the Constitution the way it is now, since I can't think of one sole thing that would require an amendment (marriage, abortion, and flag-burning are not valid to my mind).

The Constitution is based upon the Magna Carta and is a body of laws which define the structure of our republic and set forth how our government is to be run and the rights which our citizens have. I would not change one single thing about the Constitution. You know it is the only Constitution of any country still in use after over 200 years.

It's still got that 'right for when it was written' right to bear arms in it.
However, when it was written personal weaponry consisted of swords, muskets and single shot pistols and America was at war with Britain.
Now it's assault rifles, semi automatic rifles and high caliber pistols and America is fighting no one on American soil. The reason for that 'right' is gone.
But the NRA are one of the most powerful lobby groups in the US, and they won't let anyone get rid of that 'how stupid can you possibly get' consitututional right.

1. document that outlines our government and its limits
2. it should not change -- everything that it notes has or is happening and the constitution is the controlin force in our gvt system--wish the courts would reread it along with every American (daily)
