Not only would it please the god squad & the rest of the lemmings to be rid of us, especially the door knockers, but it would prove once & for all that a society completely devoid of religion would be a better place.

I guess I'm part of the "God Squad" as you put it but I feel that having a nation with mixed views makes it more interesting and gives people like us "lemmings" the opportunity to share what we believe to others who don't believe in Christ. However... are we really the lemmings seeing as it's almost more popular to not believe in God now than it is to believe in him? And if that's so that would make you the lemming and not me now wouldn't it?

Plus if all the non-believers left our nation you would almost be taking away our purpose. And have you ever heard of missionaries? Missionaries go to other countries to spread the good news. Countries where they have no faith or religion. So I feel that your Athiest nation might be impossible to build.

Besides an Athiest nation would not be a society devoid of religion because Atheism is in fact a religion itself. A religion built on theories not facts.. Incomplete theories at that.

But I guess we're not debating that are we?

Anywho, basically I dont think it would work, but by all means it's a free world do what you like.

Absolutely not. Then there would be total and absolute chaos in the world.

Granted there are false religions that promote anarchy, but without any religion would mean non-believers would be into any old skuttlebutt and there would be no balance between evil and good in the world.

It would be something like if all of law enforcment was abolished in the world. There would be total chaos there too.

We have to keep things in order the way they are now until God sends his Son, Jesus for the second coming as this will be Armageddon, God's war, and will rid the world of all wicked people, all wickedness permanently. This means all atheists who promote immorality and evil, all those calling themselves Christians but are not, or any other false relgions and their leaders, all politicians, and all worldly governments will be destroyed.

Wait for Armageddon where all wicked ones and non-believers will be destroyed for good. The answer to your question is "NO". Wait until Armageddon.

I think religion was put there for a moral guidline but not many people seem to take much notice of the moral points but use it as an excuse to kill others in war etc, then you have the other religions with all sorts of weird and wacky things they have to do - MAD - so yes not having religion would sort a lot of things out in this world

They tried that that in the USSR. It didn't work.

Its not exactly a fair test, I'll agree. They were trying Communism at the same time, but none-the-less, there is little reason to believe that religion doesn't reappear even after its been surpressed for half a century.

Man, not only are you stupid but you write like an idiot. Please take Alex Baldwin, Sean Penn and all the other ignorant liberals with you and start your own country. Better yet, take all your cohorts to the Middle East and run your mouth. Because of people like you and the ACLU, you have managed to tear the moral fabric of this great nation. As an Atheist, and judging by your comments, I suspect you have very poor values and principles. Please! Do not breed and raise children.

Tawaen, are you referring to history?

Don't ask for that world. ask for a world where people treat each other like humans. At this time, people see the color and religion of other person first. We need basic understanding of each other. Above all we need tolerance and patience.

What, you'll have secret police and surveillance to prevent people from worshipping anywhere? How is that any better than the secret enforcers of strict Islamic interpretation in Iran?

if religious beliefs bug you, it's not because the religion itself is bad, but because the people you hang out with are. i'm not an atheist, but i doubt you'd even be able to guess my religion if you hung out with me -- it's as good as being atheistic. my beliefs are personal, not meant to be paraded in public (or, if you had your way, basis of determination of citizenship!).

i speak as a national of a country of eight major religions, hindu predominance, a sikh prime minister and a muslim (former) president. it's called religious harmony, look it up.

If you reside in the uk, the law states that if you are not either a practising "Christian" or a pracatising Jew, then you are a PAGAN! this includes Atheists, Agnostics, non-believers, and any other religion or faith.
