It is based on the true story of some stupid kid who goes camping or whatever in Alaska without any provisions, supplies, or even a map and he dies of starvation. Why would anyone go see a movie about this total idiot who dies from his own ignorance?

I'm just curious as to why people would want to go watch it. Its just a question, sheesh.

"Higher level of thinking"? Well, my master's degree is in cultural anthropology and I just started working on my PhD in human geography, I'm sure my "level of thinking" surpasses most. The fact is this kid was ill prepared, wasn't thinking clearly, and had no plan as to what would happen to him if things went wrong. There is a difference between being idealistic and being smart. I just don't think a movie should been made about him.

Because you have to wonder why he did it. He isn't ignorant, that comment made no sense. You seem to think it was because he was stupid. You obviously don't have a higher level of thinking other than "black or white." If you don't like the appeal of the movie, its not for you and you shouldn't bash it just because its not to your liking. People will watch what they want to watch. Its a movie for intelligent people because they can see past him being "stupid."

Well, if you put it like that it doesn't seem very appealing. But there has to be something interesting about it, like for example I'd like to know the reason why he decided to go there with no provisions.

Hey, regardless of what you think of the kid, it's an interesting story.

You seem to care enough to discourage others from watching the movie.
