Me a North indian brahmin boy want to marry a North indian brahmin girl.She is in final year MBBS.My parents are ready but her parents are not.Just bcz of ego issue.Her father came to my house saying that they will raise an FIR against me if I will marry.Her mother is living in her hostel room,mentally harassing her.Her mother says to her that she will not go till her MBBS gets over as she might run away and do court marriage.One day her mother called at 1am night at my home and said abusing words to my father.Today her mother said to girl that if she will marry me then she should pay 25lakhs(total money spent on her from her childhood)otherwise they will put us behind the bars!!!PLEASE HELP US..we want to marry and I dont want that my parents should get troubled as they have no fault if we want to marry each other.CAN TWO UP BRAHMINS CANT MARRY???-ONE ENGNR(25) & ONE DR(24).HOW CAN I KEEP HER AND MY PARENTS SAFE?WHAT protective measures GIRL SHOULD FOLLOW SO THAT THEY CANT DO ANYTHNG!

Well first of all she is over the age of 18 legally she can do whatever she wants. Her parents can't put you in jail they are just trying to scare her. If you really love her and want to marry her hire a attorney and get an order of protection against the parents so they can have no contact with you or your family then if they threaten you or anything they violated the order and they can go to jail. That is they only way. Her parents can't keep running her life until they feel she is ready. Sounds like they are money hungry. Good luck to you in the future. Stand up for yourself and they love you have with her.

I know the cultures different from your country and the states. You need to talk to her parents, sit down and be firm with them, telling them and assuring them you will be able to care for her and suppot her if anything in her career downfallls, hopefully it wont, you two sound like such a bright couple, with great futures ahead of you both, I dont understand why her parents are not wanting this, maybe she is the only child and hate to see her leave, both of you should relax, let her finish her MBBS, once that is done, talk to them, be firm, confident and tell them you are going to get married... the laws that they might have from their country, don't apply here, if she is of age, meaning, and adult, she is free to do what she wants ;-) Best of luck!

if only you could have the girl ask her parents why they do not approve of the marriage. maybe wait for he to finish school. or ask your parents politely why you should not marry. i hate to say this but parents are usualy right...so do your best to find out whats bothering them then you try to change but keep the love burning i believe in true love

I'm guessing MBBS is an educational degree?
If the big issue with mom is her daughter finishing her degree, here's a thought.
Let the girl finish her degree.

buy a good baseball bat... the Indian culture is so different compared to ours arrange a meeting with the father go over all his issues ..what you can correct and what you cant...step back and rethink the marriage....she will need her family at some point......maybe you have to walk away

you can still be together without getting introuble.
You dont have to get marryed to show that you love each other, especialy when its going to cause so many problems.
