If he truly loved you, he wouldn't have "put his hand on you" but regardless, you did make the right decision. Alot of people will tell you that you should have used protection and you shouldn't have brought a baby into this world into a broken home, but the damage is already done. You cant change it, so the best way to deal with it, is just to move on. With or without him in your babies life. I strongly believe both parents should have a active role in the child's life, but if he is abusive to you, who's to say he wont get angry at the baby, say, for crying, and he loses his cool? You can never be too careful around people that fly off the handle. Children die everyday at the hands of their parents, or someone they know. Be careful, and make sure you are making the BEST decisions for yourself and your BABY...Good luck

You don't give much details.
Are you still pregnant?
Why did you break up?

If you are having the baby, every child on this planet deserves to have a loving home with both his/her mother and father. Every child deserves emotional and financial stability. Can your relationship with this guy offer that?

Oh, when you say he put his hand on you, do you mean he hit you? Then no, a life of violence is not what a child needs.

if he has hit you then i doubt he loves you and if i were you i wouldn't put myself or the live of your unborn child back in that situation. You don't sound very old, to say he was the love of your life is reaching a bit you think that because you are pregnant with his child. Think thing over and over again before making the decision to go back to him.

You should think about your child now. If he put his hand on you then you need to get out of that situation. Your child is depending on you to keep it safe and yourself safe. This is a very sensitive subject so you should talk to someone you trust. They would be more aware of the whole situation and be able to help you more. Good Luck

he WAS the love of your life, but now, not anymore??? you are using words in the "past tense", so i guess you're not living with him by this time. and that would mean, he had left you already???
*try to contact him if you can and ask what he wants to do with you esp that you are pregnant now and your future baby. if you can handle this situation by your own, then don't bother him, instead, face the real world and raise it up once you delivered that baby. have faith in yourself and have courage too. maybe that is the life that you had chosen for...bcoz if not, you had had prevented it beforehand.

If he hit you don't put the child through that.

I am in the same boat the guy I dunno I am with or he never hit me but a alcoholic I ampregnant with his only son at firsthe was happy about beign a father and everything was going great now it seems he has abandoned his only son before he is born. I am confused too he said he loved me and cared for me but I dunno. all I know I am going to be the best mom for his child I am carrying and love him no matter what. That is what matters

Sounds like you answered you own question. You used the past tense of sould I have stayed. It's all done now. Decisions have been made. Don't say what if. But if he laid his hands on you, YES LEAVE!!

Due to lack of info i recon if you left and he didn't do everything he need to to get you back (positive stuff) good ridence to unworthy him.Your baby will be the a greater love than anyone if you let it. kids don't benifit from parents in bad relationships or fathers who don't try .
