Of course animals can live without having sex. However if none of them have sex then that species would go extinct.
Sex is not important on an individual level (species will not collapse if one member does not breed), but for the entire species it is extremely important.

Yes of course they can. Individual animals often go their whole life without having sex. As long as some of the species is reproducing there isn't a problem.
