A passenger in a taxi leaned over to ask the driver a question and tapped him on the shoulder. The driver screamed, lost control of the cab, nearly hit a bus, drove up over the curb, and stopped just inches from a large plate glass window.
For a few moments everything was silent in the cab, and then the still shaking driver said, "I'm sorry but you scared the daylights out of me."
The frightened passenger apologized to the driver and said he didn't realize a mere tap on the shoulder could frighten him so much.
The driver replied, "No, no, I'm sorry, it's entirely my fault.
Today is my first day driving a cab. I've been driving a hearse for the last 25 years! "
Hope I've kept you amused, I'm now going to do some chores! Have a fun day everyone hugs x

Although we'd heard that one before it sounded better the way you told it! (Bj)....it reminded me of a job I once had...I was a Nursing Assistant at a hospital for mentally handicapped children and adults in Scotland, back in the early 1970's. Sadly 1 of the young boys on the ward I worked on, died and I had to accompany the Staff Nurse up to the Morgue to help prepare him for his family to see him. When we got there I was left in a room on my own where there were 4 or 5 trolleys with sheets pulled completely over bodies. After a few minutes one of the trolleys started moving and I was scared stiff! All of a sudden the body sat bolt upright and a voice shouted "I want a 2nd opinion!" I screamed and ran out in floods of tears! The Staff Nurse, who was also my best friend, came running out after me laughing so much that she almost wet herself! It had been pre-planned because it was my 1st visit to the morgue and they wanted me to relax about it......not the best way! I was only 16 years of age at that time and I thought I would never be able to go in there ever again! Of course, sometime later I was in on a similar joke with another new Nursing Assistant. I find it all very funny now but at the time I definately didn't! xxx

That's quite a story! It's hard to say how many jobs I've
had. My first job was in the 1960s, when I was in college. Some jobs stand out more than others. One of the best jobs I ever had was in the 1970s when I worked as a secretary to some professors at a major university. My most recent job in the school system, I retired from in June.
But the hardest job I've ever had is still ongoing, being a
parent. Even though my kids are grown, I am still their
mom, and I still worry about them. Then the grandkids.
Never ends.

Sounds nicely-known. in the final 13 years, i've got had in simple terms 3 jobs. till now that, in the process my severe college and faculty years, I had a minimum of forty, in all probability closer to 50. I also have a no longer uncomplicated time remembering all of them, heh. My worst 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, I went via 18 jobs. submitting taxes that 3 hundred and sixty 5 days replaced right into a soreness!

Love that story!
How many jobs have I had? Hmmm...delivered newspapers, .ice cream parlor, mom&pop grocery, garage door factory. While in the U.S. Navy (over 20 years), I worked part time as a pizza driver/cook @ Dominos, gas jocky at a Shell station, sold fire alarms, drove taxi. After I retired USN, mgr at Little Ceasars, truck driver, gov't contractor doing allowance list verification on USN ships (boring, lasted 6 weeks), ran a warehouse for US Navy ships in a local shipyard (7 years), supervisor for a cemetery (6 months), gov't contractor working with foreign navies (over 14 years so far). I plan on 'retiring' sometime in 2012. I'd like to teach English as a second language after I 'retire,' either paid or volunteer.

I had loads of jobs before I started being self employed in my own business. The shortest job I had was for three and a half hours, I started at nine am and went home to lunch at 12.30 and never went back, it was so mind bogglingly boring I couldn't stand it, believe it or not the firm sent me the wages for the time I spent with them, maybe they weren't so bad after all.It must be a laugh a minute in your household Sylvia.

What a great story. On similar lines , when I retired, for months afterwards I picked up my phone at home a lot of times and said "ward A1,Staff Nurse speaking " ! That was the job I had for most of my working life. Before that it was a couple of office jobs.
