Well, there are certainly 'hard' aspects between two individuals' charts that make it difficult for them to stay together but since choice and free will is always involved, I wouldn't say it's doomed right from the very start. Some people enjoy a good challenge but in the long run, there has to be a considerable amount of harmonious energies running between the two to make it work.
Since the Moon and Sun placements are the most important in any chart, the most difficult astrological aspects would involve the Sun/Moon at right angles to the other's Sun/Moon:
* Sun square Sun
* Sun square moon
* Moon square moon
These above aspects indicate conflicting energies between the conscious, what we want (represented by the Sun) and the subconscious, our innermost needs (represented by the Moon).
Other difficult aspects involve Venus - the Goddess of Love - and the Moon (represents our emotions), Mars (initiation, aggression):
* Venus square Moon
* Venus square Mars

Astrology should not be used to scare you away from a potentually good relationship. A good relationship requires certain thing in common so you can relate to each other. These may include common interests,beliefs and vision. Also financial or practical considerations are important. All relationships require work, in order to get maximum benefits out of them. Astrology can be used to help make a relationship work better. I am not a traditional astrologer, So I have my attitude on what type of astrology works best, and as a spiritual tuning device. I have developed a new Astrology system.

Astrology does affect our lives and our behavioural aspects to a certian extent, but
Astrology can never nullify the chance of a relationship.
Relationship is built on understanding and adapting to different persons way of looking at things- if you are able to work on that, nothing can stop you from having a goood relationship.

In my culture, there is, thought I am not completely aware of the technicalities. Till a few decades back [and in many families, even now], the parents of the boy and the girl consult an astrologer who would say if their starts matched or not.
Dont know though how far its true in practice. I've seen cases where the charts matched perfectly well, but the marriages went haywire, and cases where they did even match a bit, but the couple have yet lived a happy life.

There are as many astrological aspects between two charts as there are relationships. Who can say which will work and which will not?
I can look at individual natal charts and then consider them together, but it is not possible, I feel, to say that this and that aspect mean a relationship will not work.

don't base your relationships on that rubbish. I have lots of good friends and relationships that are supposed to be incompatible due to our astrological sign and we are great together. You create what you percieve. Don't fall into that trap
