I'm a democrat. But if the right person came along(with the right ideas to solve the issues that matter most:education,health and economic affairs)and he/she was an Independent without connections I'd vote!

I think that a President should be well versed in the way a nation works because, after all, they are leading that nation. Other than that, if the right person came along that I thought would do a better job than the other people running, then hell yes I would vote for them.

Sadly, the right person would not be elected. It is still a 2 party system. And one has to vote for the less of 2 evils. And hopefully, there are some redeeming qualities in the person you choose.

I think you probably remember the Cali Gov elections that got Arnie voted in? Thats what this next election for the President reminds me of... A circus of freaks...

If the right person came along that I agreed with on the issues and wasn't some slick politician I'd vote for Elmer Fudd no matter his party affiliation.

That would depend on what their connections were to other things, organizations. I wouldn't want someone who supports the ACLU for instance, elected.
