We went from pretty unfettered left-wing rule (1940-1980) to right-wing rule (1980-date) and Americans often see each other as enemies, rather than focusing on our real enemies, and the serious economic problems that face our country today.
Is there a way to Unite Americans again, so we can tackle the big problems we face? Which politicians are talking of Unity today?
(We know now, Bush didn't mean it when he said he was a "uniter," and Carter in the 70's was pretty divisive too)

I'm the first to say a Ron Paul V. John Edwards election would be the best thing for America, but what if we have Romney against Hillary? Shouldn't this repairing come from the bottom up?

All we can do is try to elect people that will foster that type of attitude. I am not confident that the front runners in either party are capable of doing this and some might further divide the country............

America has always had sharp political divisions -- it began with the Federalists vs the States Rights crowd in 1775.

The historic compromise between them resulted in our Constitution with its carefull blend of power of each faction.

The only historic period, imho, during which most sides agreed on the basics was during World War II. There was something about being attacked without warning by an apparently overwhelming force which brought Americans together.

Unless and until something similar happens again [which it is the Federal government's job to prevent], you won't see it.

Putting an end to all the petty sniping would be good, but I don't hold out much hope. Maybe the next time the terrorists pull off a sneak attack and kill a few thousand Americans, the extremists will quit sniping at each other and get back to working on the problems that are killing us.

I don't want to make this sound like political spam but I honestly believe a Libertarian administration could really calm things down in this country. We have become a nation of political extremists where logic and reason have taken a back seat to radical power-mongering.

Supporting Ron Paul's presidency would be a very good start.

We elect Ron Paul.

He will help and initiate the battle within the govt to defeat the enemy within. He will drive home the message of the Constitution to the masses who have no clue about it.

Across the spectrum of issues, every aspect is perfect when it comes to Ron Paul.

A great thing about him winning, would be that whoever followed would not be too far off his positions. And that means the political climate would have been restored and we may just be extending Americas life another 200 years.

Impeach bush and cheney.

It is crucial to getting back to that place when America was a nation of laws - not to be bought by the highest bidder, not to have the Constitution undermined, not to be known globally for torture.

Those two criminals MUST be impeached. Or else we are nothing but hot air.

I believe we need to rely on Congress to concentrait on issues that need immediate attention. They need to quit grandstanding and challenging the other party and prioritize the problems we need to correct. Then comprimise over those issues to find the solution to inact them. We don't need to prove that the Congress is stronger than the Executive Branch we need to find solutions. All this begins with Congress, using the Executive Branch is an excuse to attract the My Party is Better concept.

they have also discovered that Buckewheat speaks with forked tongue, besides he has no problem-free sense, and easily no individual on his crew has the flexibility in economics to address complicated subject matters. He has surrounded himself with liberal bathroom flushers. deliver the money down the hollow. no remember what the outcome. save flushing till it in basic terms both flows or blows up. it really is the Obama way.
